Complaint: I made the reservation 12/22 for my wife's birthday which is 12/29. I asked them about birthday cake they told me fine. When I stopped by the restaurant which is Nedham location to drop the cake.They told me they accept food from outside. It was a snowy day and there is a storm. Finally GM of the restaurant told me I can do it for you which is ok.Still I am not comfortable. When we went to the restraunt @ 7 pm to celebrate my wife birthday. We didnt order appetizer and our server is upset I dont know why. I ordered soup which is cold cold , they didnt change it.We didnt get our bread until we got our main course.Bread is old and cold. Nobody is refilled our drinks ! All the main courses are over cooked , there is no manager on duty.they left early because of weather I think.Finally we got the cake , they charged me for serving + no body told us or informed me for a charge. This is not my first time eating @ petit robert but it will be last time.

I responded to the gentlemen complaining and the email conversation is below. The facts as he reported are not correct.

1) Mr. ****** made a reservation via the OpenTable website and indicated in the comments field he was going to drop off a cake the day before his reservation
2) Our hostess attempted to contact him but the number listed for the reservation was incorrect
3) Mr. ****** arrived several hours before his reservation with the cake and I told him we do not allow outside food per the Needham Dept of Health requirements and our company policy.
4) Mr. ****** insisted that he spoke with someone and they indicated that he could bring a dessert. Rather than have a disagreement over the tart, I allowed him an exception to bring the dessert into the restaurant
5) On the following day Mr. ****** felt he did not receive adequate service from our server and sent the original email below through our website.
6) As I was present during his entire stay at the restaurant (I even greeted them on their way out and asked how was everything?), I discussed the service with our manager, server, busser and kitchen. 
7) Mr. ****** was greeted and sat per his reservation. The server attended to his table as usual with beverages, order taking. After the order was taken the server brought him bread and apparently he was not happy with it and told the server. She immediately replaced the bread. Once the entrees arrived the server did check on him but he made not mention that he was unsatisfied. At one point during the close of the evening he asked the server to take photographs of his party.
8) My original view from the email was that he was unhappy with the food and service and that was the extent of our conversation. It appears from the note written to the BBB he is unhappy about the cake cutting fee. This is new to me as he has never mentioned it before. We rarely have customer complaints but when it happens we deal with it in a fair and consistent manner. It is my pleasure to refund the cutting fee via a gift certificate.

My name is ***** ****** and I had a reservation 12/29 @ Needham location.  This is not my first experience in Petit Robert but it will be last .

1- Service is Horrible.My water never refilled,I didn't get bread and butter until I ordered.First bread is cut and dried after I informed to my server she got us hot one.
2- Food under average.My steak was under cooked ! But I cant see my server or busser for 13 min after I got my food.
3- We came to your Nedham location from *******/MA to celebrate my wife's birthday.We were dissapointed.
4- Most important part , I got my bill in the middle of our coffee which is not acceptable.  Restaurant is not busy still there are 9 or 10 available tables.But our server is checking the bill every 3 minutes she didn't let us talk.
5- I am not trying to be an ...****.I am fair enough but I was sad. Petit Robert Central is 5+ star with service and hospitality but Needham gave us memorable expereinece in food and service. 

BBB's Final Determination: Business offered a resolution. Consumer did not pursue further with BBB and the matter was assumed to be resolved
