Complaint: My daughter was told that her poem would be published in a book from the America Library Of Poetry. This company never sent a signed copy of the book my daughters poem was supposedly published in. I sent in a check back on 8/16/13, which this check was cashed 8/29/13 with a delivery date of 4 to six weeks. I have yet to receive this book nor any refund of monies. How many people/ children have they done this to? Its sad because schools are promoting this company. I do not have money to throw away. Im a single mom that has been taken advantage of. My daughter sits and wait and wait for this so call book to arrive in the mail. They will not answer the phone to even speak to a representative.

Desired Settlement: The return of my money and a apology to my daughter for getting her hopes up of being published.

Business Response: We received your daughter's signed release form authorizing publication of the poem and rour child's name and poem appear in the book, **********.  We also received your family’s order. Please understand that publication is not automatic. We must receive the release forms back before we are authorized to publish the poems. The book you purchased was not already printed at the time you placed your order, since we have to wait on release forms to have poems in the book.  Producing a book is a long process, and it is right on schedule.  The letter (in the circle on page two) and the order form (which you filled out and returned) both stated that delivery should be expected in December, and that timeframe did not change. Please confirm you have now received your daughter's poetry book. 

BBB's Final Determination: Business offered a resolution. Consumer did not pursue further with BBB and the matter was assumed to be resolved

Complaint: My daughter wrote a poem titled"******" and it was submitted by her at her school. I than got a letter stating that it had been officially registered in The American Library of Poetry Student Poetry Contest. So of course with that in mind I wanted a copy of the poem and I had to pay $32.95 + 6 postage and handling. total 38.95. I paid for the Author's copy on Sept16th 2011 and was told that I would receive my copy in early December. When it did not come in December I thought that I would call to find out the reason that I did not receive it.But all that I have gotten was a recording telling to go to the website. I have done that as well and I have gotten no answer as to what happen to the book. I also read somewhere on the internet that this company is running a scam. Is there anyway that you could help me to get the book or have my money refunded back to me. And for the record my daughters name is ****** ******** and she goes to **** ****** Academy and the teacher that sent in the poem was *** * ******. Sincerely***** * ********

Desired Settlement: It's either one or the other refund or the book.

Business Response: Ms/ ********'s book was shipped in November 2011, to the address she provided, which turned out to be the school's address, not her own. This explains why she did not receive her order. A replacement book is being shipped to her at home. A copy of the email we sent to her today follows:

Dear Ms. ********,
We just received notice of a BBB Complaint from you. Our phones are only answered as manpower allows, which is limited, so people are forwarded to our website. I don’t understand why we did not receive an email from you. If we had, I could have told you that your order was received and filled and shipped in November to the address you provided, **** ****** *** **, ******* **.   I just looked that address up on Google and show that it is the school’s address. You did not change the shipping address when you placed the order. Since I now have your home mailing address, thanks to the unfounded complaint with the BBB, I will have a copy of the book shipped out to you again. It will be shipped one week from tomorrow (Tuesday, March 20th) and will be coming via USPS, so please allow 2-4 weeks delivery time on their end after that date. In the future, please email us directly for assistance.

Consumer Response: I have reviewed the response submitted by the business and have determined that the response does satisfy my issues and/or concerns.  Thank You so much for taking care of this for me. I really appreciate your help.

BBB's Final Determination: Consumer accepted resolution offered by the business.
