Additional Notes

Complaint: Barlett and Steadman sent one worker to our house in early November 2013. We we not getting heat in one bedroom out of one vent. The worker was there for about 10 mins, inspecting the vent, then went to the basement to look at the heater. My husband and I were with the worker the entire time he was at our house, which was no longer than 10-15 minutes. At the time the workers stated that he would not be able to do anything, and he would need to come back to open up the ceilings to see if something was blocking the heat. We made arrangements for his return. On 11/22/13 the workers returned and opened up ceilings. They were unable to repair the issue, but spent approximately 3 hours at our house. On 11/22 we received a bill of $305.86 for "Cut Open Ceiling Removed Insulation From Duct Work" At that point the workers stated they could open up walls, where we declined. We received a second bill on 1/9/14. This bill stated 12/5/13. Open Up Ceiling in basement, Insulation in bent blocking heat flow to bedroom removed insulation and repaired vent recommended inspection of other areas since air flow still not at optimum level customer stated did not want inspection. bill was $384. That was the total amount due. I was unsure for the increase, I assumed that it was a late fee? From then, I received 3 additional bills now charging me different amounts in each bill. I have paid $200. The company is claiming amounts of time and work at our house that never occurred. The bills have changed over 5 times. They are being dishonest about the time they spent at our house and they are changing the amount we owe.

Desired Settlement: I want to only pay for the actual time they were at our house about and for the actual work they did.

Business Response: We have reviewed the customer's complaint and all associated paperwork. We have been in touch with the customer and have worked out and agreed upon an adjusted price for the work performed. We value all feedback from our customers and thier satisfaction is our number one goal. Thank you.

BBB's Final Determination: Business offered a resolution. Consumer did not pursue further with BBB and the matter was assumed to be resolved
