Complaint: On 12/31/2013, I placed a call to order propane. They charged my bank account 224.51. When they delivered the propane, the true price on the slip was 189.10 plus they tacked on a $60.00 fee for a total price of 249.10. When I asked what this fee was all about, they explained that they weren't in ******* that day. This was never discussed with me, and I basically told them that i wasn't dealing with them and come and get your tanks which they did. That is making the long story short. I want the price refunded to me of the propane that was in the tanks which was 3.89 a gallon x 48.5 gallons which is what was the true price on the delivery slip. I will pay their mystery fee which I disagree with altogether but it is a small price to pay to not have to deal with a deceitful company.

Desired Settlement: 3.89 * 48.5 gallons=189.10. They charged my account 224.51. 224.51-60.00 =164.51. I would like 164.51 refunded.

Business Response: In this case Mr. ******** received a refund of $174.25 on or about Jan. 11, 2013. He received a refund for all the gas that was present in the tank when we picked it up all without anyone asking us because itis the right thing to do. We do charge delivery fees when will call customers allow themselves to run out of propane to defer the cost of the special trip and the relighting and inspecting of the equipment. Mr. ******** claims that hewasn’t told about the fee. I actually find that hard to believe but would be happy to forward him a check for $60. Nobody at P. Gagnon and Son ever intentionally “deceives” anyone. If he actually wasn’t told itwas a mistake on someones behalf here.

Consumer Response: I have reviewed the response submitted by the business and have determined that the response does satisfy my issues and/or concerns in reference to complaint.

BBB Comments: The consumer indicated to BBB that the complaint was resolved.
