Are you, like me, sick and tired of the robotic-like stereotypical therapist? Example: "How does that make you feel?"
If so, then I must recommend ***** Morin. Don't be fooled by her casual attire; she doesn't dress to impress you or show off her Degrees; she dresses in a way that makes one feel comfortable. There's no clinical atmosphere, it's exactly like seeing an old friend and talking about what's going on lately.
Plus, if an ugly situation develops, she's not afraid to write letters on your behalf (or even testify in court). In the past I've had other therapists who didn't want to "get involved". What's the point of being involved in the problems in my life if they are not willing to get involved when it really matters? Needless to say, I ditched them very quickly.
Lastly, I've had other therapists who spend more time writing notes than listening to me. What are they writing, a resume for another job??? Are they writing furiously because of something I said? Did I say something wrong? It really makes me uncomfortable.
*** Morin doesn't take (distracting) notes like others I've been to, but as she'll admit, she has a memory like a steel trap, and speaking first-hand, it's true.
I can mention a single name or subject from years ago, and instantly (without referring to any notes), she'll immediately recall the specific details surrounding the event involving that person or subject. It's like having your own personal therapist who only sees one person...you!
I can't speak highly enough, and find myself very lucky to have been referred to her (by someone else who had a very positive experience, of course).
