Complaint: I made a purchase and was never given a tracking number in order to know when the delivery would occur. Ups left the package and it was stolen from my front door. The company said that once an item is shipped they are not responsible. I think this is terrible customer service

Desired Settlement: I would like other shoppers to be warned and for this to be reflected on their business page

Business Response: This shipment was sent directly from the manufacturer to the customer.  Tracking numbers are available upon request.  Ms. ***** did not contact anyone in regards to acquiring the tracking number until after the item was stolen. In addition, Ms. ***** has indicated that she has had delivered packages stolen from her prior to this event. Once notified that the package was not received by Ms. *****, we responded immediately by contacting our shipper to double-check that the package had been delivered to the address as given, and as scheduled.  Upon finding that the package was in fact delivered to her address, we recommended that she contact her local police department as well as the local office of the responsible shipping company.  The customer chose not to do that, and instead demanded that her money be refunded through our payment partner, PayPal. After an investigation, PayPal ruled that Erie Drive had  fulfilled our obligation to the customer responsibly and in good faith. Erie Drive strives to go above and beyond to respond to all legitimate customer issues, and we regret that the item was stolen post-delivery. However we cannot be held responsible for what happens after merchandise has been successfully delivered to the customer-determined delivery point.

Consumer Response: I have reviewed the response submitted by the business and have determined that the response does not satisfy or resolve my issues and/or concerns in reference to complaint.

I contacted **** ********* on December 14, 2013 when I noticed I had not received the package nor had I received a tracking number. The company is incorrect in saying that I knew the package was stolen, I did not I knew I had not received it. There is not a way to obtain a tracking number which is an odd business practive, therefore I contacted the comapany to inquire. They should put on the website that a tracking number will not be offered unless you ask for one. I did have a package stolen the day before which is why I reached out to see where the package was. The company incorrectly stated that I did not contact UPS. I contacted UPS and was referred back tot he shipper. Obvuiously this company does not put their customer's needs first. I do not need a response I just don't want the same thing to happen to someone else. Buyers beware of this company!    

BBB's Final Determination: After reviewing the position of all parties, BBB determined that the business made a reasonable effort to address the complaint. However the consumer remains dissatisfied.
