Complaint: We have had problems with this company for a few years... we have always paid them for the gas we used. In the last few years we were only allowed to order 100 or more gallons at a time because we did not pay them back in the amount of time they wanted for their gas but we always paid them so we would get more home heating fuel. for the past few years they allowed us to purchase 100 gallons at a time until last week when we tried to purchase 200 gallons and they refused and they demanded we fill the tank up. We can not afford to fill up the tank and pay in full. We got our tax return and wanted to order 200 gallons because thats what we can afford. but D.F. richard wants us to pay for the 200 gallons now and then by april 1st pay the rest off but we can not afford that and they want us to setup an auto pay for that. we live on a strict budget because of the economy and cant afford more than the 200 gallons at this time. WE have been buying 100 gallons at a time for a few years and also on Dec 24, 2012 we were allowed to pay for 100 gallons and now their policy changed and we have to fill our tank full. It is in the middle of winter and we cant afford to pay out another 600 (more or less) dollars on april 1st. WE have been doing okay buying 100 gallons at a time and we dont understand why they are forcing us to fill the tank when they know we cant afford it. they also want an autopay set up and we cant do that. we have our mortgage to pay and car payments and other bills and food. it is in the middle of winter and we have three young children * years , * years and a baby who is * months old. we need gas and we only can afford to buy the 200 gallons at this time. we have poor credit because of money problems and no other company will accept us at this time and D.F. richard is taking advantage by forcing us to fill the entire tank. We cannot agree to fill the tank because we wont have the money in april but we do have money now to buy only 200 gallons. If we did not get our tax return back we would only be able to buy 100 gallons because that is in our budget range.

Desired Settlement: we just want to be able to buy 100 or 200 gallons as we need the gas to heat with. by requiring us to fill the tank and setup an auto pay is setting us up to fail in our bills like our mortgage. we dont understand why we were allowed for a few years to buy 100 gallons at a time and now that has changed. we just want to buy the minimum allowed like we were and we were doing ok. we have young children that need to be warm.

Business Response: Our insurance company has notified us that they want us to fill all propane tanks for safety issues (to make sure valves, gauges, and bleeders on tank are working properly which a partial fill does not allow us to do). We were willing to have the delivery paid over time but we are also willing to deliver a partial delivery if is what the customer wants. Please have him let us know.
