10/30/2013 Newport County Propane (NCP) was recommended by my realtor ~2.5 years ago when we moved into our house, which was a brand new build. Since that time, NCP has foregone (automated) delivery TWICE! Ask any other home heatign dealer, as did I, and they will tell you, it it not the responsibility of the homeowner to check gauge levels and report to the company when low. There are programs in place that tabulate what is called a "K" factor - the anticipated amount of fuel consumption for a household, based on # of people, # of rooms, types of appliances, etc... So,the 1st time were ran out of propane was last year and in the dead of winter. Our house was 40 degrees inside and I have very small children. We called the hotline but did not hear back until 9:30 that next morning with a subsequent delivery at almost noon. I would have thought they may have had an emergency call-out delivery, but we heard nothing. The other time was last week. Overnight temps were in the 40's though our home maintained the ambient temp around upper 50's until the next morning, which is when I called another company. I then called to cancel service and the person whom I spoke with was discourteous and unprofessional. "*****", was all he would tell me of his name, and not what his position was within the company, as I indicated I wanted to let it be known to management that they have since lost a customer. I would have expected for the representative to at least offer an apology and make a suggestion as to how they could make the situation right, but nothing from this guy. I was not rude, nor did I use vulgarity or come off as snooty or arrogant, just simply upset. In fairness, the next day when I called to advise their tanks were ready for pick up, and a gentleman named "****" lent an ear and offered an apology and seemed surprised and slightly agitated at the poor level of service from the other rep. Anyway, hope this helps but I would NOT RECOMMEND NCP! -**** * *********
