Complaint: Prior to the visit to Thomas Jacoby office, I called for my loosen implant (upper front). I asked would he be able to do the work. The reception stated come in to the office. Thomas Jacoby does my cleaning for more than a year. the date visit on 6/10/11. Dr Jacoby checked the implant. stated to me the loosen implant in need a special tool to tighten the crown to the implant, which he doesn’t have it. and it was no feasible for him to buy the special tool for my work. he might never use again. I was told to look for another dentist for the work. and I was billed for $78. I called the office when I received the bill and told the reception I refused to pay the bill. Jacoby was a dentist for a long time. He knew he doesn’t have the tool to do the job, he should have told me right from the beginning to find another dentist for the work. but he kept me there for a while. then he’ll be able to bill me.

Desired Settlement: I refuse ot pay this bill $78

Business Response: Patient called office and reported that he had a Crown loose. An x-ray was taken to determine if he had:   - A failed implant   - A fractured implant   -A fractured abutment   -Fractured crown  Upon examination it was determined that he had a loose abutment. At this point we told him to either find out which brand of implant was placed so we could treat him or return to office  that placed the implant to have treatment. When he called he did not mention that this crown was on an implant only that he had a loose crown. He was charged for the xray which was used to make the diagnosis and to make the diagnosis for appropriate follow up treatment.

BBB's Final Determination: Business offered a resolution. Consumer did not pursue further with BBB and the matter was assumed to be resolved
