8/12/2015 BEWARE IF YOU WANT TO MAKE SURE YOU GET WHAT YOU ORDERED! I placed an order for ****** Boat shoes that had been reduced on North River Outfitter.com on August 7. I had received other e-mails stating that the order was in progress. Then, on August 12, I received an e-mail stating the order was pending and later that day I was told they were out of the product SORRY! My son was wanting these for the beginning of the school year and now I have to start looking all over again.

Comment from the Business We are terribly sorry that we were unable to fulfill this order for the shoes. Unfortunately, when items are deeply discounted they often sell out faster than we can update our site. The customer placed the order last Friday, we are closed on weekends, and today we completed inventory on what was left from the sale in all of our locations. We alerted the customer as soon as we confirmed they were not available, and her credit card was never charged. by on 8/12/2015

7/7/2014 I ordered an ****** footstool for my husband’s birthday in June 2013. Shortly after I placed the order I received an email from NRO saying that because the ****** footstools are special order, I would have to wait 8-10 weeks to receive my order. I was disappointed because the gift would be late but I understood. Well, 10 weeks passed and I never received shipping information from NRO so I reached out to them. After calling, emailing, and trying their online chat tool someone finally wrote me back to tell me that ****** was behind schedule, but I would be getting the stool soon. I continued to email NRO for months regarding my order. One month, I was 5th in line. The following month, I was 6th in line. They insisted that I was not dropping lower in line and had no idea why someone would have told me I was further ahead in line. This went on for 12 MONTHS. Literally. My husband turned a year older while waiting for this gift. NRO kept telling me that ****** was really far behind, and that’s why I wasn’t getting my stool. Whether that’s true or not, I don’t know. I imagine that if ****** knew about this, they would be appalled at the customer service NRO provides, and unhappy that ****** is being blamed in the matter. At the very least, NRO should tell you on their website that ****** orders take a YEAR to ship. Instead, they tell you 8-10 weeks (and they tell you this AFTER you order and pay because you have to pay upfront, not when it ships) and then string you along for 52 weeks. They had my money for an entire year, and I had no product that entire time. NRO never contacted me to update me on my order, or tell me why it hadn’t shipped, or to tell me when I should expect the order. I had to contact them every time. And they only responded to 1 out of every 3 emails I sent. In summary, do not order ****** foot stools from NRO. Just order from ****** directly. It’s not worth going through NRO. They are unresponsive and INCREDIBLY slow.

4/29/2014 The only time I ever had to call my credit card company to file a claim to get my money back ever was with the on-line transaction with NRO. NRO sent me the wrong item then expected me to pay the shipping fee for the return. Then their customer service representative accuses me saying I ordered wrong even though the order receipt clearly stated what I ordered. When finally they paid for the shipping return label, I returned the item and no refund. After 1 week I called and then NRO said they agreed to pay for the shipping return because I agreed that I would exchange for the correct item! I did not agree to this, I have returned the their mis-sent item, and still no refund. Then they said if I do not agree for the exchange then they will deduct the return shipping fee (from the order they messed up on originally) from my refund! Thank you NRO for being the worst customer experience experience ever and thank you for being the first ever credit card claim I ever filed.
