Complaint: A few years ago I had this company re shingle my roof and at that time they said I had the wrong type of sky-lite on my roof and that was probably why their were leaking problems with it . I authorized the contractor to purchase and install the correct type of sky lite and install it when he re roofed the den. He did a good job and there have been no problems until last week when water started dripping from three places around the skylite. I realize they would probably not fix it free as most contractors only give a one year guarantee on the labor but I believe the skylite had a 5 or 10 year guarantee on it should it turn out to be a problem with the lite and not the installation. Since he purchased it he has any guarantee paperwork that may have come with it so I called him first on wed. two weeks ago. When I did not recieve a call back in two days I called again on friday and left another message that water was leaking in my den and I needed him to call me . Whwn he didnt call again I left a third message on sat. When he still didnt call I went to his web site and responded to his "contact us" section and again asked for a call back. As of today over 12 days later I still have no call back and am now in the process of finding a roofer to correct this problem. I only forward this so anyone else dealing with this company will have a sense of his customer followup after he has been paid-- I also notified the building inspectors office in town so they were aware of his followup as they are often asked for a list of contractors when someone wants work done. He did a great job and was very available during the job but it seems like now he wants no part of any followup so im probably going to pay to have something fixed that I may have got done under the guarantee and at best he lost the chance to get the job--I don't get it ??

Desired Settlement: Id like to hear from him but need to proceed to find someone to help me as I cant have water dripping in every time it rains!! Guess I just want it on the record about his customer service or lack thereof--I'm also a selectman in town and have prople looking for help all the time--you can be assured I will let them know about his followup

We’ve been in contact with **** ****** our previous customer and addressed issues that he brought to our attention. unfortunately, we could not find anything wrong. we addressed a similar issue, two years previously with Mr ****** about hail damage to the skylight. where it was recognized and a report was given to him. there may be a problem, we are standing by our commitment to our customers for diligence. and still at this time we are paying close attention to a possible problem that our customer Mr ****** may have and we assured him we would be here to resolve anything that is within our warranty package. we apologize to Mr ****** about the delay in our response due to arising issues. he was understanding and did not mention anything about having a complaint registered against our company. Mr ****** also contacted other roof contractors that did not show up and the lapse of our communications that there was a problem. when we resolved our communication problem with *******, we were back on point and customer care was out utmost importance. as of today, Mr ****** is in communication with us and seems to have no problem and still offered us more work to do at his property. I think that speaks for it all
 

Consumer Response: Better Business Bureau: I have reviewed the response submitted by the business and have determined that the response does not satisfy or resolve my issues and/or concerns in reference to complaint # *******. I have tried to contact the company and again no response, I am sitting looking at three buckets of water from todays storm.  There's a lifetime warranty on the skylight and i think it this point we need to address having that done or have some reason why this is happening. i need some type of response from the company.  

BBB's Final Determination: Business offered a resolution. Consumer did not pursue further with BBB and the matter was assumed to be resolved
