Additional Notes

Complaint: Safari Lawn Care company winterized my sprinklers in the fall of 2013 without notifying me that they were going to. My property was at that time being management by an agent who had hired someone else to service the sprinklers. In talking with Safari lawn Care they argued they have been winterizing my sprinklers every year ,but that is not the case because they did not winterize them last year. In the spring of 2013, I had someone turn on sprinklers which I paid $ 35 only for Safari lawn care to come a few days later and turn on my sprinklers. At that time I told Safari Lawn care that my sprinklers had been blown but they insisted it had not been done right which I disagreed. At that time I had to pay an additional $ 35.0. This time round I have paid a company through my agent to winterize my sprinklers and with similar circumstances Safari lawn Care company is requesting payment that had been done by another company. I personally find this practice unacceptable.

Desired Settlement: I would like safari Lawn Care company to be barred from collecting payments from me because I have already made payments to the company.

Business Response: We were hired in 2010 from this client...he had us reprogram his timer box in the summer and blow out the sprinklers in the fall.  Both payments from client were several months late, we even send him to collections to receive payment.  Then again in 2012 we were hired to turn sprinklers on and repair some bad wiring at the solenoids, payment was again late.  In 2013 we blew out the sprinklers on ******* **** and even left a note on the door.  Another company came nearly a month later and also blew out the system.  I told the owner the other company should not have billed him since the system was clearly already blown out...they would have seen the back flow and recognized this.  I also told him this happens to us about a dozen times every fall.  We walk away from these jobs and can't charge the client.  The other company should have done the same thing.

Additional Notes

Complaint: I have tried to work this out with Jeff but he is refusing to see my side. I received a bill for 539.00 was shocked. Jeff quoted me 300 which you can see on the scope of work sheet to clean out, edge and bark the front strip of my house. This was not done, he said it was cleaned out but I spent an afternoon cleaning it out and then put mulch down. If you look on the invoice dated 6/1/2012 you will see where it says 24.00 for hard edge bed, clear grass & weeds and then 210.00 for Re-edge bark strip. I sent him a check for 294.00 for all the work he did. He then sent an invoice dated 7/1/2012 stating that I owe him 95.00. He stated that the 210.00 was a mistake and that he took off 60.00 for the work he didn’t do. He didn’t do half of the work he should have and he knows it. And then he charges me a service fee. He won’t return my phone calls and I am tired of dealing with this. You will also see on the invoice dated 7/1/2012 he said my check was for 239.00 when it was for 294.00 I feel he is not being honest. I would like to add where he cleaned out the grass and said it wouldn't grow back, it is growing back.

Desired Settlement: Cancel The Billing. I should not owe anything.

Business Response: When ***** and I met we talked about the work and I left her a contract stating what we would do.  The disputed communication has to do with the flower beds.  The flower beds are covered in grass and weeds.  As per the contract and our communication I told ***** that I would re-edge the flower beds, knock the weeds and grass down with a weed eater, and spray round up/pre-emergent in the flower beds.  We were then going to spread a layer of bark over the flower beds.  We started this process and were ready for the spray and bark.  ***** called up and said she wanted the beds cleaned out completely.  This is a tedious process which I was not contractually obligated to do nor did I bill her for this.  I cleaned out the beds everywhere except where it might damage a plant.  We then sprayed the beds and were ready to cover them with bark.  ***** called and said no more work, don't do the bark I will do it myself. The billing was a mix up that has been straightened out and I left two messages explaining what had happened.  We had two separate accounts set up for *****.  When she sent a check in the whole amount was applied to one account and not both.  When she had us come back out a second time to remove all of the grass and weeds we re-activated the service in our system.  When the work was recorded she was double billed.  The billing has long been straightened out and she has been notified through voice mail twice.   ***** asked for additional work which I never charge her for.  The Double billing and two separate accounts were human error as I explained to her twice. Any further questions let me know.  I've been in business for 15 years and have enjoyed wonderful growth and a clean track record.  I understand with communication errors and understanding do happen.  I hope this gets resolved for both of us and we can move forward.

One account has a zero balance the other I would take the original $90.  Service fees have taken it up to $100 currently. JeffSafari Lawn Care LLC

Consumer Response:

I’m tired of stressing about this….so I just sent him a check.  I learned a good (hard) lesson from all of this.  Next time I’ll get a couple of bids and make sure we are both on the same page as far as expectations.
