BBB Customer Review Rating plus BBB Rating Overview
BBB Customer Reviews Rating represents the customers opinions of the business. The Customer Review Rating is based on the number of positive, neutral and negative customer reviews posted that are calculated to produce a score.
|Customer Review Experience||Value|
|Positive Review||5 points per review|
|Neutral Review||3 points per review|
|Negative Review||1 point per review|
BBB letter grades represent the BBB's opinion of the business. The BBB grade is based on BBB file information about the business. In some cases, a business' grade may be lowered if the BBB does not have sufficient information about the business despite BBB requests for that information from the business.
BBB Letter Grade Scale
Star Rating scale
BBB Customer Review Rating plus BBB Rating is not a guarantee of a business' reliability or performance, and BBB recommends that consumers consider a business' BBB Rating and Customer Review Rating in addition to all other available information about the business. If the BBB Rating is NR then only Customer Reviews are used for the Star Rating.
Problems with Product/Service

Complaint: The bank has good customer service in person but bad customer service when customer is not there, I signed up for a no min. Checking and Savings, I opened it with both money in both accounts, the next month my debit card was shut off because the bank closed out my no min. Savings because there was no money in the account, so I had no choice but to go in and get a new card, when I did I also set up for overdraft, meaning I could overdraft as long as I had money in the account the next day, today me and my wife went to the store tried to spend $20 and was denied, it said insufficiant funds, well no da! That's why it is called over draft. But I was refused even though I signed papers that said that I can. This is the worst bank that I have ever had to deal with! I give them a rating of minus!
Desired Settlement: I want better service and stop the false advertising! I have no vehicle, so to always have to go to the branch is not fun! I want the BBB to contact the bank and request that they get their act together!
Business Response: To address the complaint from *** *** **** ******, the savings closed itself on the system, the monies that the ******** placed in the account were transferred to the joint checking and the account went to a zero (0) balance and the system automatically closed it, if they would have left even a penny in the account it would have not closed and with an open and active checking, which they have, it would not have service charged the saving account and would have been there for their use when they wanted to reactivate it. *** ******** debit card was mistakenly closed by our Couer ‘d Alene office when the saving closed. As far as the “overdraft” I do see that he has “opted in”, what the ******** need to remember when opting in, the account is allowed to overdraw to a limit, based on how they have handled their account as well as how long the account has been open. They also need to remember that if they do overdraw their account and do not cover the overdraft, same day, they are subject to fee’s $29.85 for the initial fee for each item and $5.00 per day after 5 days. *** ****** indicated that it is hard for him to travel to the bank, he needs to realize that if he does overdraw the checking and he can’t make it to the bank, he will incur a fee. I am sorry if the ******** have not had a positive experience with Mountain West Bank, they are more than welcome to call me and discuss this matter, which is what I wish he had done and I would have addressed his complaints and helped him to find some resolve. They are both welcome to contact me at 208-884-6995.Sincerely, Rachel Walsh AVP/Manager
