Complaint: My complaint consists of multiple issues for starters. To begin the check engine light came on a couple days after I purchased the car and we brought it up to them and are told that there is nothing they can do. When we had ******** diagnostic check it the code came back that the camshaft is bad. They told us when we purchased it nothing was wrong with it.On the other end there service is terrible. We were mislead told we could make a payment by the end of March and told it was only going to be $500 and now they are back stepping and telling us it is late and that we have to pay an additional $25. ***** tells us that we can pay the $500.00 by the end of March which is the 31st and yet we get told today that it is a month from when he talked to us. Well why didn't he tell us that????? In addition to all that we get two people that tell us pay a certain amount in Jan and then you don't owe anything until the end of Feb. Yea that was untrue apparently we had to make a car payment in between there. We have been told misleading things since the beginning. None of their people communicate together at all. This has been the most unpleasant car buying experience I have EVER had, they tell you one thing when they want another, they will do anything to get an extra dollar out of you.
Desired Settlement: It would be great if we didn't have to pay the extra $25.00 and if they would fix my car at no charge since we were told nothing was wrong with it when we purchased it.
Business Response: I apologize that this customer is unhappy, but the facts in this case are very straightforward. The customer had a deferred down payment of $1500 that was due on 2/28, of which only $1000 was paid. Customer was given an additional 30 days to come up with remaining $500, for which a $25 late fee seems quite minimal. As of today, customer has still not paid the remaining past due balance. As far as a check engine lite, we sell used vehicles, as-is. No one can guarantee the mechanical future of a vehicle. If there is a problem with the vehicle, then I suggest that the customer schedule an appointment for it to be evaluated in our shop per the service agreement, although for the record, this is the first Combs has heard of any issue with the vehicle. Unfortunately, given the circumstances, I am unable to meet the customer's desired resolution.
BBB's Final Determination: After reviewing the information provided by all parties, BBB determined that the business handled the matter appropriately, and no further action was needed.
