  • Exactly 100 years ago today, Juliette Gordon Low (“Daisy”) excitedly called together 18 girls from her Savannah, Georgia, neighborhood and held the first Girl Scout meeting in her parlor. Although women didn’t even have the right to vote, Daisy Low was inspired by the Scouting movement in England, and she had a vision for an organization that would empower girls.
