With spring just around the corner, it’s a good time to think about what you might need for the upcoming seasons. You can score some good deals on off-season purchases now, before they hit a premium.
Televisions: If you’re not a stickler for the newest release, you might find last year’s TVs and other electronics at a great price this month. Japanese manufacturers’ fiscal season ends in March, so you may score a good deal as inventories are cleared for new models.
Homes: Springtime is the peak season for realty, and it can mean greater selection for prospective buyers, but also higher prices and more competition. Winter can bring better prices, but you also might find yourself looking at a smaller pool of homes for sale.
Cameras: Digital cameras first start going on sale following the Consumer Electronics Show of new products in January, so by March, you may be able to score some great deals on older models.
Frozen foods: National Frozen Food Month happens to be March. Yep. Watch for coupons and deals this month.
Luggage: We’re between peak traveling seasons, so if you’re looking for new luggage for upcoming summer trips, now’s a good time to buy. Large retailers like Macy’s, Sears, and Walmart discount their luggage lines just ahead of heavy travel months.
Golf clubs: Summer is also prime golfing season, and last year’s models are being cleared for the new ones. You might be able to pick up new clubs at a deep discount.
Thrift stores: Now’s the time to hit up secondhand shops, since they’re able to offer a better selection after spring cleaning donations. Just be sure you don’t bring back more than you need, and undo your own paring down!
Sneakers: With spring comes warmer running weather, so if you buy new shoes now, you can beat summer sales.
Cruises: Planning and purchasing a cruise vacation well before you travel (for next fall, winter or spring) can score you great deals.
Winter clothing: Retailers need to make way for spring clothes, so watch for discounts on coats, boots, sweaters, and other seasonal wear.
