A Postcard for A “Free” Giftcard?

An area consumer received a postcard stating, “Good news! You are eligible to receive $100 in gift savings good at Wal-Mart or Target!”

It had instructions on the card to call a number in Boston to claim the reward. The consumer called the number and says she was asked for her debit and credit card numbers to pay $1.95 to get the gift cards. Since she knew not to give her card numbers to strangers believing they could use that information to steal money from her account, she wanted to warn others about these postcards.
