BBB warns job seekers to avoid job offers to become a secret shopper for E Natural, a business supposedly located in Cincinnati, OH. Neither the business, nor the job offer exists.
According to a complaint BBB received, job seekers are receiving emails from E Natural offering a job to become a secret shopper. Those job seekers that respond to the offer are sent a $920 money order in the mail, which they are then instructed to deposit at their bank.
E Natural tells “employees” that as part of their job they must spend $30 of the money at Walmart and fill out a questionnaire about their experience. Then, the”employees” are instructed to pocket $200 and wire the remaining $690 through Western Union to another person. The business explained that this person was “next in line” to get their secret shopping excursion done.
What job seekers may not realize is that the money the job seeker wired out actually went into the hands of the scammers, and that the money order they received in the mail from E Natural is, in reality, counterfeit. When the money order eventually bounces, the job seeker will be responsible to pay for any money that is lost.
BBB is unable to locate E Natural. The address of 4031 Ashwood Ct, Cincinnati, OH that they gave out is not the business’s real address. Instead, it is the home of a private residence not associated with the business.
BBB warns consumers never agree to deposit a check or money order and wire transfer money back to anyone that you are not familiar with. If you have been a victim of this scam please contact BBB and the Internet Crime Complaint Center (IC3), a partnership between the FBI, the National White Collar Crime Center and the Bureau of Justice Assistance which acts to receive and investigate cyber crimes.
