The Cleveland BBB and Idaho based company, Locate Express, have come together to offer the Cleveland area a free service that allows the consumer to quickly locate a BBB Accredited Business that is working nearby and ready to help. Using a geolocating application loaded on the BBB Accredited Business professional’s smartphone, ABConnect sends the consumer’s request for service directly to the professional who is in closest proximity to the consumer.
The name of the service, ABConnect, not only suggests the primary function, to connect consumers and Accredited Businesses, but also lets the consumers know that using this service is as easy as A-B-C.
A. The consumer can access this free service through a browser on their computer, smartphone or tablet. Once there, they simply choose the type of service needed, provide a few details describing what they need done, and then add their location.
B. Within seconds, the request is sent to participating BBB Accredited Business professionals’ smartphones, alerting the professional who is closest to the consumer’s location. The professional sees the request and the location, and chooses the connect button on the smartphone application.
C. At this point the consumer has the choice to view the professional’s profile and connect, or to end the process. If the consumer chooses to connect, their contact information is sent to the professional, who calls the consumer and makes the connection.
ABConnect makes choosing a professional easy by supplying a pool of businesses that are already BBB Accredited, and then finding the one who is closest to the consumer and available to take the call. Not only is the service FREE to the public, but it also does not require a registration, and the consumers information is not kept on file. The contact information is only shared with the professional chosen by the consumer, and only after the consumer chooses to connect.
The Cleveland area will serve as a pilot for this program, as only the second BBB to offer the service to the public. The BBB in Boise, Idaho is successfully offering this program to Idaho residents. This program and all other programs of the Better Business Bureau including Dispute Resolution, BBB Business Reviews, Customer Reviews, and Complaint Detail, are always FREE to consumers.
