“Harry Potter” Star Named Most Dangerous Celebrity to Search

According to McAfee’s annual study, Emma Watson has replaced Heidi Klum as McAfee’s 2012 Most Dangerous Celebrity to search for online.

McAfee research found that searching for the latest photos and downloads of the popular actress results in an over 12.6% chance of landing on a website containing malware. This means you have nearly a one-in-eight chance of landing on a malicious site by searching Emma Watson’s name!

Cybercriminals often use the names of popular celebrities to trick people into visiting sites that will put them at risk. Consumers should be careful when visiting unknown websites and beware of content that prompts you to download anything. Always make sure you have the most up to date anti-virus software installed on your computer.

Other top 10 celebrities that made this year’s list are Jessica Biel, Eva Mendes, Selena Gomez, Halle Berry, Megan Fox, Shakira, Cameron Diaz, Salma Hayak and Sofia Vergara.
