Gift Card Present 150x150 More Popular Restaurants Go High Tech with e Gift CardsJust in time for Mother’s Day, the largest full-service restaurant company has gone high-tech, offering e-Gift Cards that buyers can personalize with photos and voice recordings. Darden Restaurants, which owns The Olive Garden, Red Lobster, LongHorn Steakhouse, and other chains, introduce the new service last week, according to The Orlando Sentinel. The newspaper notes that many other popular chain restaurants, such as Applebees, Outback Steakhouse and Chili’s, have had digital gift cards for a while.

The e-gift cards can be ordered securely at the company’s website and sent instantly via email. The cards can be themed to a specific holiday, such as a birthday or Mother’s Day, or can say “Congratulations” or “Thank you.” The company’s most popular chains have the digital gift cards now; its smaller chains like Seasons 52, Bahama Breeze and others will have the new cards soon.
