Happy Hug Your Dog Day!
Now there’s a wacky holiday I could get behind. Seriously, the dog food company Beneful is promoting their new Baked Delights™ dog snacks by creating this holiday (Tuesday, April 10). Go to their Facebook page and use the custom app to add a sweet photo and you’ll be eligible to download a coupon.
Ok, it’s only a $2 coupon, and only available while supplies last, but still. Who could resist hugging their dog(s) and showing the world? And what are these baked snacks like?
The Beneful page says you can also “tweet, post on Facebook or post an Instagram photo with a caption that includes the hashtag #hugyourdog. There will also be a a Hug-o-Meter on the page to track the total number of “hugs” received throughout the day.
Award-winning actor Eric Stonestreet of the TV show Modern Family and his 12-year-old rescue dog Coleman Hawkins are sharing the first official hug on the Facebook page to kick off the day’s celebration. (I love the fact that his dog has a different last name. Lol.)
Even if you don’t post to the Beneful page, it’s good to celebrate your love for your furry friends. I have to stop writing now. My dog is staring at me, trying to psychically communicate the word FRISBEE. Or maybe the words FRISBEE, NOW. But first, a hug.
