Redbox has drawn a line with Warner Bros. on its new 56-day delay (and ends the current 28-day delay) on renting out new DVD Releases, according to Business Insider.
Instead of getting the discs directly from Warner at a discount, the DVD-rental company will now acquire the discs through retail and rent immediately. Redbox’s competitor, Netflix, agreed to Warner Bros. delay so this gives Redbox an advantage.
Last year, Redbox eclipsed Netflix as the largest renter of DVDs.
