The U.S. Postal Service reported a $3.3 billion loss this past quarter, according to the Jacksonville Business Journal. The loss is much higher than the $290 million in the same quarter a year earlier.
First-Class Mail revenue fell 4.1 percent. That revenue has declined 15 percent and the volume has decreased 25 percent since 2006.
“Technology continues to have a major impact on how our customers use the mail,” said Postmaster General Patrick Donahoe.”
