YouTube, the popular massive video hosting website, has always kept a record of all the videos users watch on the site while logged into their YouTube or Google account.
This has been a big privacy issues for users who did not want their history recorded at all, according to Ghacks.net. The tech website is now reporting that YouTube has finally added an option to disable the search history feature on the site, which effectively stops recording which videos you’ve watched.
To disable recording, visit the settings page (you must be logged in) and click on the Pause search history button (see image below. click to enlarge).

While this is a valid solution, if I am not mistaken it requires you to be logged in. For an additional level of privacy protection, I would recommend logging out, clearing your cache, and then setting your browser to block cookies altogether. If you are really concerned about your privacy, you could even route your traffic through a proxy on top of that.
As many Google users know, the company tracks quite a bit in attempts to better target advertising at its users. Since YouTube is owned by Google, it uses many of the same technology. Most of the tracking is done at the Cookie level, so why not block that too?
