Thinking of buying a brand new TV to watch the Super Bowl? Unlike in years past, consumers will have to really look for deals, reports USA Today.
Due to strong TV sales over the holiday season, retailers probably won’t have as many sets on hand. In addition, big sales will be harder to find. Expect to see fewer discounts on older sets, but rather on larger, 2012 model screens.
Some deals to consider:
- Best Buy has $700 price cuts on Sharp 60-inch ($999) and 70-inch displays ($1,999) through Saturday.
- Amazon is offering a $600 price cut on Panasonic’s 60-inch plasma HDTV ($999.99) starting Sunday. There will be $500 instant rebates on select Sony Bravia and LG HDTVs.
- Mitsubishi’s 92-inch Home Cinema rear-projection 3-D DLP TV is $3,999.99 with a $2,000 Super Bowl promotion.
