Doesn’t it seem like Christmas comes earlier and earlier every year? In some retail stores, the holiday season begins as early as September, following a national trend to attempt to sell more seasonal products, reports USA Today.
Expect to see holiday displays by month’s end in stores such as Costco (which began selling merchandise September 1), Wal-Mart, J.C. Penney, Kmart and Home Depot.
Retailers are hoping that by beginning the season earlier, they will sell more merchandise to consumers who may be strapped for cash in this economy. Many people also plan to do at least some of their holiday shopping by Halloween.
