Named for the style of architecture in Southeast Asia where families live above their restaurant or store, ShopHouse delivers noodle bowls and sandwiches. Sandwiches include one meat topping, green papaya slaw, crushed peanuts and herbs for only $6.

ShopHouse has already gained a local following in D.C., as well as from investors (Chipotle stocks are up considerably this week). However, don’t expect to see a ShopHouse opening in your neighborhood anytime soon; Ells has not disclosed any decisions to expand in the near future.
