Local Businesses Give Back

charity 150x150 Local Businesses Give Back“Gooooooood Morning, Local Family!”

When you watch ABC’s Extreme Makeover Home Edition, it seems as if the general contractor and Sears are the only ones contributing to the home build. But a local effort is opening eyes in our community to the large number of businesses who want to do the right thing.

The recipient

27-year-old Shane Reilly of Spokane, Washington, was shot in the head by a man he gave a ride to in his pickup truck back in March. A passionate snowboarder, he is partially paralyzed. Hospitalized for four months, Reilly will return home soon. (Reilly’s assailant, Rob Startin, was sentenced to almost 15 years in prison for first degree assault and possession of a firearm.)

More information

At least eight BBB Accredited Businesses are involved in helping Shane and his family. Band Construction Inc., is volunteering as the General Contractor on the KXLY Extreme Team Project giving Shane a home that works. VPI Home Solutions has accepted the challenge to get siding on Shane’s new home in little over one day. Northern Quest Casino is putting up Shane’s parents while the home rebuild is completed.

Clow Construction, Condron Homes, Everhart Painting, and the Kitchen Place and Window Replacement Systems are also contributing to the project. KXLY TV is also a BBB Accredited Business.

Other area businesses helping out include: Cascading Creations, Dependable Drywall, Galen Hagen Construction, Reflections Window Cleaning, River City Solid Surface, Rodda Paint, Royalty Hardwood Floors, ProBuild, TAGurit.com and Spokane Grapevine. Recently, FMI Sales donated a brand-new barbeque grill to the family.

The BBB is pleased to be able to bring you some positive news from the business world. If you have had a transaction with a business that demonstrates integrity, honesty, trustworthiness, transparency, and responsiveness, please write a customer review on www.bbb.org. If they’re not already BBB Accredited, they should be!
