Many schemers follow storms across the country to profit from the misfortune of others. The BBB warns anyone making a charitable contribution to storm victims to check if they are an accredited and reputable charity. Storm victims should also make sure they are using a reputable home repair contractor.

It’s really sad when people can scam victims of natural disasters and feel no shame or remorse. Sure be nice if these type people had a red glow around them to warn us. In a sense, they too are natural disasters.

Due to the large amount of home repair work required after a natural disaster, most local reputable construction companies are overwhelmed. The door is often opened for out of state companies to become involved in the repair efforts, minimal screening of these contractors occurs resulting in an unknown level of workmanship.
