You or a family member may have received a letter or phone call regarding National Immunization Survey (NIS). The NIS is conducted by National Opinion Research Center (NORC) from the University of Chicago.
So what is this survey all about? The National Center for Immunizations and Respiratory Diseases(NCIRD) and the National Center for Health Statistics (NCHS) of the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) are conducting the study. The NIS provides the public with important health information about childhood immunizations and related health matters. The voluntary survey also helps health officials in their efforts to improve health care programs.
This phone survey is conducted in households across the county. Surveys are assigned to telephone numbers using random assignment, and sometimes depend on the age group of the household members. Participation is voluntary and no information that identifies any individual will ever be released. All personal data are kept under strict confidentiality regulations followed by the CDC.
