We moved to Nova Scotia mid summer 2020, and the learning curves were just preposterous..! Fall season came and realized didn't have enough wood for winter. At a dinner in Chester a trusted friend spoke highly of a firewood vendor. The day after I was in his yard.. Firstly, I learned more in 20 minutes about firewood good practice than ever before - Then I learned it was too late..! (..by December 8 there was no more split seasoned-wood left in the yard..) - After, I learned Frank's also a very kind and helpful person (..probably noticing my ignorance-informed-desperation he pointed to a pile of stuff - Finally, on December 11 two Cords of perfectly seasoned & ready-to-burn "Blocks" were dropping in our yard (..when talking Blocks cubic feet would be more appropriate, but let's keep it simple) So, low and behold.. that's how "Frank Saved Christmas" in 2020 ..lol.. Since then, the learning curves are still high, but one easy thing I can recommend anyone to do is to call him early on (as we did since). We truly recommend Frank's firewood and passion for his work and quality to anyone in the Province, and wish him and ****** a safe and healthy 2022!

I remember that first meeting well. Concerned as I was based on the late time frame for seasoning wood, I felt it was my job to help as best as I could and try educate a Newbie (so to speak as in my world) to the world of cold here and headaches to come when the correct choices are not made in buying wood at the best times of the year. Since then, you have become a good listener, a good friend and person who still wants to know all you can on the heating aspect of comfort and safety. Few people walk that road. I commend you on that trek. For me, blocks and miscuts are a super alternative as you have found. Most of all with miscuts and blocks, they are a super way for less and more heat in a more controllable atmosphere. And the same goes with regular wood as many choices vary from person to person.
