9ED VALU-RITE ON DECEMBER 23RD, 2013 TO FIX A LEAK IN MY CLOSET. CARPET WAS WET(NOT SOAKING)I HAD HEARD SQUIRRELS OR RATS IN THE WALLS 1 WEEK PRIOR. SO, THOUGHT THAT IT COULD HAVE BEEN THAT THEY CHEWED HOLES IN MY WATER PIPES. I TOLD ***** THIS WHEN HE ARRIVED. HE SAID IT COULD BE A VENT ISSUE? HE WENT OUTSIDE AND CHECKED THE WATER METER. HE SAID IT WAS MY MAIN WATERLINE. HE NEVER SHUT OFF MY MAIN WATERLINE, EVER! HE SAID THE METER WAS SPINNING! HE TOLD ME THIS WAS GOING TO BE A BIG MESS. HE WROTE UP A CONTRACT, IT WAS TO REPLACE MAINLINE FROM METER TO HOT-WATER HEATER WITH 1" PIPES. AND TO BUST UP CONCRETE IN MY GARAGE AND REDO CONCRETE. THE TOTAL WAS $8,936. HE SAID HE NEEDED $4,500 FROM ME TODAY. PAID ON CC. HE TOLD ME TO WAIT TO CALL INSURANCE WITH HIM. HE COULD GET 100% PAID BY INSURANCE! HE SHOWED UP NEXT MORNING AT 10:00 WITH 2 GUYS. THEY DUG A SMALL TRENCH AND CUT OUT DRYWALL NEXT TO WATER HEATER. HE SAID ALL MY PIPING WAS UNDER MY SLAB. BIGGER MESS! HE STILL HAD NOT ADDRESSED THE LEAK IN MY CLOSET? HE SAID HE PUT FOAM IN MY WATERLINE AND I WOULD HAVE WATER FOR CHRISTMAS EVE AND CHRISTMAS DAY. THEY LEFT AND HE SAID HE WOULD BE BACK DEC.26TH. HE CALLED AND SAID COULDN'T COME. THEY SHOWED THE 27TH AT 10:00. HE CUT OUT DRYWALL IN CLOSET AND FOUND RAT INFESTATION AND SMALL WATER PIPE WITH 2 HOLES IN IT FROM RATS, LEAKING WATER. THIS IS 4 DAYS AFTER I calleD ABOUT THE LEAK! HE SAID YOUR FOUNDATION IS LEAKING UNDER MY BATHTUB NEXT TO PIPE WHERE RAT CHEWED. THEY PUT 3/4" H20 LINE IN. DRILLED HOLE THROUGH FRONT OF MY GARAGE AND RAN LINE ALONG INSIDE OF MY GARAGE TO WATER HEATER. WATER LINE EXPOSED. NOT UNDERGROUND IN GARAGE! NEVER BUSTED UP CONCRETE. HE THEN ASKED ME FOR ANOTHER $6,200 CASH, HE SAID I NEEDED NEW PLUMBING IN MY ENTIRE HOUSE. I DID NOT PAY THE MONEY, MADE HIM LEAVE MY PROPERTY! I NEVER NEEDED NEW WATER LINE! THE ONLY LEAK WAS FROM RATS. HAD 2 OTHER ESTIMATES. ONLY $450 FIX!

Desired Settlement
WILL NEED $4,500 REFUNDED BACK TO MY MOTHER! AND, WILL NEED EXTRA $500 TO LAY WATER LINE CORRECTLY OUTSIDE UNDERGROUND (the way IT IS SUPPOSE TO BE) and FOR FILL DIRT, WHERE THEY LEFT METER EXPOSED. AND, WILL NEED TO PATCH DRYWALL AT SHOWER. WHERE ***** CUT OUT HOLE TO EXPOSE SHOWER CONNECTIONS (for NO REASON!)TOTAL OWED TO ME IS $5,000.

Business Response
This customers issue was diagnosed properly from the start. She was completely happy with everything until her mother turned her down for financing the total job.

At that time, she transformed from a very nice person to a very crazy person and began pulling her hair in front of several witnesses. She then forced everyone to leave.

She was in the middle of a large job that needed to be done. She only called another plumber AFTER all this occurred so that she could get someone else to fix a very small leak we created while opening the Sheetrock wall. By this time, we had already bypassed the original leak and had started opening walls to finish the replacement of very brittle piping.

She gave a non-refundable deposit for the job and then broke the contract so that she wouldn't have to pay the complete bill.

All she had to do was explain her situation but instead, decided to go crazy and post complaints everywhere in order to get out of paying.

At this point, she owes us the remainder of the contract. We are more than happy to complete the job as outlined therein.

Complaint
Valu-Rite installed a new water line from my meter to my house. My daughter tried turning on the sink after they left to find we did not have any water. The company had not turned on the main water line entering my home. Immediately after the repair, we found that hot water was coming through the cold water system. Each time we turned on the cold water faucet in the morning extremely hot water came out instead. The company has sent someone out once to repair, but the repair tech wanted to see the hot water for himself. He did not show for our second scheduled appointment. I have called numerous times since to schedule them to come and repair the issue. The person who answers the phone always tells me he will have the owner call.

We would either like the company to come when scheduled and repair the issue or reimburse us to have it repaired by another company.

I received notification of this complaint just last week. February 11, 2014.

Mrs. **********'s issues were resolved back in December of 2013.

This complain has been satisfactorily resolved by both parties.

Company did come and try to repair. They did not call to see if the issue was resolved. The issue is still on going. The water is not as hot as it once was. We will have another plumber fix versus have them come back. They said they tried everything they know to resolve our complaint.

Final Business Response
Upon leaving the job, we accidentally forgot to turn on a secondary shut-off valve to the home. My technician went (1) mile up the road, then turned around and went back to turn this valve on. And this is reason for a complaint? Really?

Then, some time after; she calls up with a complaint that hot water was coming out of her cold water faucet at only 6 am in the morning. Her complaint at that time had nothing to do with having enough hot water.

This customer had a water service replaced from her outside WATER meter, to her home and nothing more.

This has absolutely NOTHING to do with her water heating system.

After making a FREE NEEDED repair (IN ORDER TO MAKE HER HAPPY) to something on her water heater that had nothing to do with our water service. She has the audacity to complain now about the fact that her "older" water heater is no longer producing hot water? Really?

This is now a completely different and just as absurd as the first complaint about her new water service line installation.

This customer has created a complaint on something that has NOTING TO DO WITH THE SERVICE WE PROVIDED HER!
