Complaint During a service call for our hot water tank, the technician did not have in his truck the filter cartridge that would fit our hot water tank. So he drove 3.9 miles from our house to Ace Hardware and purchased a pack of two filters for the price of $6.99. The technician then returned with the Ace Hardware purchase, turned the water off to our house, replaced the filter on the hot water tank, and turned the water back on. This took less than thirty minutes and we were charged $227.50. I feel that this definitely was because we are senior citizens. A call to Delta Plumbing the next day, revealed that the supervisor was taken back for this amount. The general manager admitted that looking at the work order he immediately saw the $227.50 charge for the filter, but his justification was that he had to compensate for his two employees in the truck and the wear and tear of the commute to and from Ace Hardware.
We would just like this to be published where other senior citizens will not use Delta Plumbing.
Desired Settlement I first spoke with ****** the supervisor, on Thursday morning and expressed my bewilderment of the $227.50 charge for a $6.99 filter purchased at Ace Hardware. Of course, ***** said he would look into and call me back. I received a call around five o'clock in the afternoon from *****, the general manager. ***** stated that the $227.50 charge for a filter caught his eye immediately when he saw the invoice. He was the one who told me he had to compensate his two technicians who drove 3.4 miles to Ace -Hardware and for his company truck. He repeatedly told me that he would check into this and call me before ten o'clock Friday morning with his findings. It is now six thirty Friday evening and I have not received a phone call from anyone at Delta Plumbing.
I absolutely feel that I was taken advantage of because I am a senior citizen. If this complaint brings to the senior citizen's attention the "educated plumbers" way of doing business, then I definitely feel this action is required. So please file this official complaint and request that Delta Plumbing compensate me an adequate amount for this matter.
Final Consumer Response the company and I have reached an amiable settlement. Please close the complaint activity for this case. Thank you.
Complaint We contacted Delta for our septic tank to be pumped. They had an ad in the phone book that advertised $188. to pump the tank. We made an appointment and when the gentlemen arrived, they would not do the job for that amount. Along with the $188. was a $125. service call fee a $250. solid waste pump fee and a $35. fuel charge. We did not let them do the job, but was forced to pay $125. service call fee. We had to wait another day and have a different company come to do the work. We have contacted Delta by email to complain about the way they advertise. Thank you. Product_Or_Service: septice tank pumping
Desired Settlement Since they did not explain, nor did their ad show prices subject to fees or changes we feel we should not have had to pay a service call when they did not do the work.
Business Response Mr. ******** contacted us for septic service and was quoted our standard price to pump out a 1,000-gallon tank. The customer was told over the phone that if the septic tank was no deeper than 18 inches, was not overfilled, and was at normal operating level, then the cost would be $188.00 plus a $35.00 environmental fee which covers fuel in the truck and disposal of the sewage. He was also told that if the work went outside our standard service, there could possibly be extra cost involved.
Our technicians arrived on site and excavated the tank lid. Once the tank was uncovered, they discovered that it was overfilled and had an excessive amount of solids inside the tank that would require us to manually break down the solid waste before being able to pump out the tank. We quoted the customer $188.00 plus $250.00 plus $35.00 for a total cost of $473.00. The $250.00 is for the overage and labor for breaking down the solids.
The customer declined the service so the technician closed the lid on the tank and graded the yard back to the level before excavation. We invoiced the customer $125.00 for the excavation, removing the lid off the tank, and backfilling the excavation area. We also told the customer we would credit the $125.00 toward the original estimate if he decided to have the work performed and we will still honor the credit.
Consumer Response (The consumer indicated he/she DID NOT accept the response from the business.) The information Delta provided is false, misleading and incorrect. Per their own staff all phone conversations are recorded, so they need to provide that conversation. We had the work done the next day with no problem. The company that pumped the tank said we had no more than what is normal for a tank that is full. Our tank is less than 12 inches underground. The guys who came here from Delta were to lazy to dig up the dirt without a backhoe and messed up our yard. We felt like we were taken advantage of because we are seniors. We have a copy of the estimate. We have checked the company's Facebook page and there are complaints from other folks. We sure weren't told about all the additional costs or we would have not agreed for them to come to our house. They are falsely advertising their service. Just check their ad in the phone books.
Final Business Response Delta Plumbing stands by our response to this customer. However, we regret that they felt they were treated wrongly. We are refunding the $125 service charge.
Final Consumer Response (The consumer indicated he/she ACCEPTED the response from the business.)
Complaint Our plumbing was backing up, we needed to have our septic tank pumped. Delta advertised $288 so we gave them a call. They told us they would be here the next morning. We waited all morning and called for ETA, they eventually arrived around 5pm. Our home is less than 5 years old and our problems is not unusual. Our septic pumping job went from $288 to $1,222, huh? All these hidden charges not disclosed and all things you would think would be included is not, excessive solids, isn't that what a back up is about, that's why I called. I told them no way but charge me $125 for coming out, and I still have the same problem but I am a little wiser. NEVER will I hire this company who practice BAIT AND SWITCH, DISHONEST, UNRELIABLE, UNETHICAL. When I ask for the breakdown of cost in writing, they refused stating he didn't have an official form except for what he scribble on paper base on this standard price sheet. What business does not provide a form that list a breakdown cost. We did take a pic of his list of cost he scribble on paper which I will include in this complaint.
Desired Settlement I would like my $125 refund for deceptive advertising. If they were upfront with me on the cost, I would never have agreed to them coming out nor did they tell me they would charge me for coming out. All around dishonest, bait and switch business. Check was dated incorrectly. The correct date of issue is 12/20/14 and check was cashed on 12/23/14. My phone records shows I initial called them on 12/19/14 and they came out 12/20/2014 the next day.
Business Response Contact Name and Title: *********** Office Mgr. We truly value our customers and want to forge long-term relationships with them.
We are running a special for a basic septic tank pump. This is for a maintained tank that just needs the basic pump-out. When we receive a service call, we try our best to make the customers aware of possible additional charges for service, but until the technician visually assesses the problem, we can't give 100% accurate pricing over the phone. Our technicians give upfront pricing at the job to allow the customers the opportunity to make the decision for Delta Plumbing to do the work or to choose another company.
In this particular case, the technician did dig up the tank and that's why we charged the $125.00. We regret that the customer was not pleased with the service received. We have refunded the $125.00 as a show of good faith and hope that we might possibly be able to work with them again in the future.
Consumer Response (The consumer indicated he/she ACCEPTED the response from the business.) I do not agree with your explanation of "basic pump out' cuz that is what we just needed. I don't agree with digging charge because they would not be there to dig if the price was not deceptive. I did receive the check so I did get what I was seeking. Case close
Complaint I am not upset with the service. The men who came to my home were pleasant. However, I did have a problem with the deceptive advertising this company places in the Greater Gwinnett Yellow Pages. According to the phone book mentioned earlier, a septic tank can be pumped for $180 flat. When the workers came to my house, they wanted to charge me $313. My septic tank was in good condition, and they did not feel it was necessary to pump my tank. However, I would be concerned about other pricing and advertising tactics used by this company. Also, it would have been nice to have a more accurate time window for arrival. I made my appointment a week in advance for some routine maintenance work. They apparently did not feel it was necessary to notify me that they would be 3.5 hours later than expected. I had to call them to find out any information. I believe the company can be better and more clear to customers if they just make these changes. Product_Or_Service: Filter, Inspection Order_Number: ********** Account_Number: *******
Desired Settlement I would like to get my septic tank pumped for $180 flat as advertised in the Greater Gwinnett Yellow Pages. The gentlemen who arrived to inspect my tank recently stated that I should be due for a pump within 2 years.
Business Response Contact Name and Title: ****** ****, Office Manage Contact Phone: ************ Contact Email: ********************* Dear Mr. *******,
We are please to hear that you were happy with the technicians that came to your home. We have gone over the work that was completed at your home and all of the charges with the technicians. We are also please to hear that our technician did not charge you for a service that in their professional opinion was not needed. It would have been wrong for them to come out and pump your tank for $188 on top of the work your septic system did need. The $300 that was charged was to dig up the backside of the tank and replace the filter that had gone bad, this is a different service than just a pump out. We do advertise to pump the tank for $188 and we pump tanks for $188, but if we get to a job and there is another problem we let the customer know up front and how much it costs up front to give the customer the opportunity to refuse service. In your response you mentioned you saw an ad for $180 flat in the yellow pages, I have reached out to the yellow pages to make sure there is not a misprint. We advertise to pump a 1,000 gallon tank for $188 and when someone calls in for service we always try to let them know over the phone that if there are any other problems there could be additional fees as well as the possible dig fee and fuel/environmental charge. Again we try to be as upfront as possible with our prices so the customer does have the choice. In regards to the technicians being late and you not receiving a phone call, we do sincerely apologize we do try very hard to reach out to all of customers and let them know if we are running behind schedule and we understand your time is valuable. If you have any other concerns and would like us to come back out and pump your tank for $188 now rather than waiting please contact our office and ask for **********, office manager.
Consumer Response (The consumer indicated he/she ACCEPTED the response from the business.) Thank you for responding to my concerns. It is $188. At the moment, the gentlemen stated that I didn't need to have my tank pumped. They said that it would be wise to do it in 2 years, though. So, I'll wait until 2016 before I have my tank pumped. If possible, I would like it at the $188 rate. I'll keep in mind the additional fees for environment and fuel. Would you also indicate the charge for 1500 gallon tanks upfront? That would be greatly appreciated.
Complaint Quoted 188.00 to pump out septic tank. Then stated it had excessive water and sludge in tank.....then stated had roots, after all add-on price is now 1,722.00 (ONE THOUSAND,EIGHT HUNDRED DOLLARS!) keep in mind all they did was take covers off septic tank then pump it out and remove top layerof sludge. After pumping it out they came back and stated the field lines were no good and it would be 7,522.00 on top of the 1722.00 Also cut gas line to gas light and tried to charge 450.00 to repair it. After writing a complaint on their web site they came out and repaired gas line but left yard totally destroyed. was taken by this company. over charged by at least 1500.00 Many Many complaints on web site.
Desired Settlement Refund of over charge of 1500.00
Business Response Contact Name and Title: ****** **** ******* Contact Phone: XXX-XXX-XXXX Contact Email: ************************** Delta Plumbing, Inc. has been in business for 40 years and only because we truly value our customers. We strive to make our customers happy and want to forge long term relationships with our customers. We take our reviews very seriously and understand the importance of customer satisfaction and trust. We do advertise $188 for a basic septic tank pump; however, this is for a maintained tank that just needs the basic pump out. In this particular case the tank had not been maintained and there were excessive solids and sludge and there tree roots in the tank that had to be taken care of on top of the basic pump out, which is why it cost more. We train all of our technicians to explain the process to our customers and to try and educate our customers on the steps needed to take care of their septic tanks. Unfortunately with septic tank work it is a step by step process and there is no way to know about some of problems with the tank until you get in it and pump it. We also train our technicians to tell the customer of any problems they see as soon as they see them and the price to fix them. In this case on top of the immediate problems with the tank being completely full and the tree roots in the tank the technician also noticed that the field lines going to the tank were bad and quoted her a price on replacing the lines. It was just a quote and that fee was not charged. We always give our prices up front because we don't want our customers to feel like they are being over charged. The customer always has the choice to say no and use another company if they feel like we charge too much. Before doing additional work that led to the increased price above the $188 we did communicate with the customer about what we were doing and how much it would cost and the customer agreed to it and had us do the work. Our technician did hit a gas line that was not marked on accident and we did repair it free of charge. We also had this customer on schedule to go back out and seed and straw her yard before this complaint was filed. Due to the Ice we were not able to get back to her as quickly as we would have liked to, but this was on the schedule to be done and has been done. We have reached out to this customer and have sent her a refund because we do care and want our customers to be happy. We did not issue the refund of $1,500.00 that she requested because we did do the work, her septic is not backed up anymore and she did agree to the charges and signed the invoice, but again since we do truly value our customers we did give her some money back and we believe that this has been settled.
Final Consumer Response (The consumer indicated he/she ACCEPTED the response from the business.)
Complaint I WAS QUOTED A LOW PRICE FOR SEPTIC SERVICE BUT WHEN THEY CAME OUT THEY STARTED RUNNING UP THE BILL WHEN I CALLED DELTA PLUMBING I WAS TOLD BY ***** THAT THEY CHARGED $188 TO PUMP THE TANK AND THAT THERE WAS ALSO A $35 ENVIRONMENTAL CHARGE. I TOLD HIM THAT I NEEDED TO GET THE FILTER CHANGED SINCE I WAS TOLD THAT IT WAS ABOUT TO FALL APART THE LAST TIME I HAD IT PUMPED. HE TOLD ME THAT IT WOULD BE $125 FOR THE FILTER. I KNEW THAT THE FILTER WAS ONLY ABOUT $30 SO I ASSUMED THAT THE $125 INCLUDED INSTALLATION. HE DID NOT TELL ME THAT THERE WAS A $395 INSTALLATION CHARGE AT THAT TIME. IF HE HAD I WOULD HAVE TOLD HIM THANK YOU AND HUNG UP. WHEN TODD GOT THERE ON 7/18/2016 HE ASKED ME IF I HAD BEEN TOLD ABOUT THE CHARGES AND I TOLD HIM WHAT ***** HAD TOLD ME. HE THEN TOLD ME THAT THERE WOULD BE $250 FOR EXCESSIVE SOLIDS CHARGE WHICH I COULD UNDERSTAND SINCE IT HAD BEEN 7 YEARS SINCE IT HAD BEEN PUMPED OUT. HE THEN INFORMED ME THAT THERE WAS A $395 INSTALLATION CHARGE FOR THE FILTER. I SHOULD HAVE TOLD HIM TO LEAVE AT THAT POINT BUT WAS STUPID AND DID NOT. HE TOLD ME THAT THEY HAD TO INSTALL A BAFFLE TEE IN THE LINE SO I THOUGHT HE WAS GOING TO HAVE TO DIG UP THE LINE AND INSTALL A TEE IN THE LINE. HE DID NOT EXPLAIN TO ME EXACTLY HOW LITTLE WAS INVOLVED TO INSTALL THE FILTER. AFTER THE WORK WAS FINISHED HE INSTALLED THE FILTER WHICH CONSISTED OF GLUING AN 18 INCH PIECE OF PLASTIC PIPE TO PLASTIC TEE AND GLUING IT TO THE PIPE IN THE TANK. THIS TOOK LESS THAN 30 MINUTES. I COULD NOT BELIEVE THAT THEY CHARGED ME $520 FOR A FILTER THAT COST $25, MAYBE $25 IN PLASTIC PIPE AND FITTINGS AND THE REST LABOR. BOY DID THEY STICK IT TO ME!!!!!!!!. I WENT TO THEIR OFFICE THE NEXT DAY TO COMPLAIN IN PERSON TO THE SEPTIC MANAGER AND TOLD HIM THAT I FEEL THAT THEY SHOULD REIMBURSE ME $300 OF THE FILTER INSTALLATION . HE SAID THAT THEY WOULD BE IN TOUCH. ON FRIDAY 7/22 *******, THE CUSTOMER COMPLAINT MANAGER CALLED ME AND OFFERED TO REIMBURSE $157. I SAID THAT I WOULD ONLY SETTLE FOR $300 BECAUSE I FELT THAT $220 FOR THE FILTER AND INSTALLATION WAS MORE THAN FAIR. I HAVE SINCE CALLED SEVERAL OTHER COMPANIES ABOUT THESE SERVICES AND WAS GIVEN A PRICE OF $150-$175 FOR THE FILTER AND INSTALLATION. I WAS TELLING THE PEOPLE I WORK WITH ABOUT HOW DELTA PLUMBING RIPPED ME OFF AND A COWORKER TOLD ME THAT THEY TRIED TO DO THE SAME THING TO HIM. HE WAS SMART ENOUGH TO RUN THEM OFF WHEN THEY TOLD HIM THAT IT WAS GOING COST HIM $900 AFTER ***** HAD GIVEN HIM A PRICE OF $350 ON THE PHONE. THEY WERE GOING TO CHARGE HIM $195 TO WASH HIS FILTER OFF. IT SEEMS TO ME THAT THIS COMPANY USES THE BAIT AND SWITCH TACTICS BY QUOTING A LOW PRICE SO THAT PEOPLE WILL HAVE THEM COME OUT TO THEIR HOUSE AND THEN THEY RUN THE PRICE UP. I FEEL THIS IS A SHODDY BUSINESS PRACTICE AND I AM DOING MY BEST TO WARN EVERYONE THAT I KNOW ABOUT DELTA PLUMBING. THE ESTIMATE THAT I GOT OVER THE PHONE WAS $348 AND I ENDED UP PAYING $1093. $520 WAS THE FILTER AND INSTALLATION.
Desired Settlement I AM ASKING A REIMBURSEMENT OF $300. THE $395 FOR THE INSTALLATION OF THE FILTER IS TOTALLY RIDICULOUS CONSIDERING THAT IT TOOK LESS THAN 30 MINUTES TO INSTALL. IT TOOK NO SPECIAL TOOLS AND NO SPECIAL KNOWLEDGE TO DO IT. A 10 YEAR OLD COULD HAVE DONE IT.
Business Response Delta Plumbing takes pride in providing customer satisfaction and competitive rates. We also provide OPTIONS to our customers before any work can be completed. Delta Plumbing takes total consideration to our customers needs and will always strive to ensure the customer feels confident and educated before making a buying decision. Unfortunately, in this case the customer was not pleased with the estimate and chose to speak publicly about it. Delta Plumbing immediately reached out to the customer to resolve any open matters and miscommunication that may have taken place. We take our business seriously, especially our customers, and we make it our goal to provide an excellent customer experience.
Complaint For about 2 weeks, the commode in the master bath would make a sound like it was flushing by itself. I wasn't sure what the problem was so I saw an advertisement in a magazine for Delta Plumbing. The ad looked nice and claimed to offer good service and offered discounts for senior citizens and retired military. It offered a price of a service call for $39.00 so I called them and made an appointment for a plumber to come out and see what was causing the commode to flush by itself. I was not home when the plumber arrived but my wife was. He looked in the tank and then quoted a price for the repairs. He did not even tell my wife what the problem was. He gave her a price of $317.00 to repair the tank. Brand new, the commode, a Kohler Cimarron model, cost $350.00. He also gave a price of $550.00 to replace the entire commode. My wife called me and told me what the man said. I asked to talk with him, his name was Dylan, and he said that was the best he could do and never did say what the problem was. He was just trying to sell an overpriced job. Later I called the Delta office and talked with someone named *****. He told me that he has overhead and must charge high prices to meet his overhead. I then went to the place where I bought the commode and told the parts man there what the commode was doing. He told me I only needed a new flapper and sold one to me for $14.00 and the problem was solved. So my complaint against Delta Plumbing is that they don't care about the customers, that they are trying to "soak" customers in order to make money. I will never call Delta Plumbing again and I will definitely let people know about my experience with them.
Desired Settlement I paid a service charge of $39.00, this was on Monday, June 1st. According to my wife the plumber just looked into the tank and never said what the problem was. He didn't even touch anything in the tank. He was more interested in selling services that wasn't needed. I feel that Delta Plumbing should refund my $39.00 because they tried to scam me, strong words but that is how I feel about it.
Business Response After assessment of the problem, the technician determined that the internal parts of the toilet needed to be replaced. He provided estimates for two different options; one of which was for rebuilding the toilet and the other was for replacing the toilet. The quote of $317.00 for the repair includes ALL brand new parts, not just the flapper, and labor for the repair. The quote of $550.00 includes a brand new toilet and labor for the installation as well as removing and hauling away the old toilet. The $350.00 for the brand new Kohler that the customer references is only for the cost of the toilet.
Customers are made aware when they call for service that we have a $39.00 service charge that will be waived if the work is done. Otherwise, they are charged the $39.00 that covers dispatching the technician and receiving an estimate.
It is definitely not our company's intentions to take advantage of anyone. We pride ourselves on being a reputable company that has been in business for 40 years and we always strive to maintain a high degree of customer satisfaction.
Consumer Response (The consumer indicated he/she DID NOT accept the response from the business.) The repairman never did say what the problem was that was making the commode flush by itself. He should have told us that all that was needed was a new flapper. Instead, he tried to sell us on unneeded repairs. As I stated, I bought a new flapper for $14.00 and haven't had any more problems with the commode. Delta Plumbing can make claims about being a reputable company but you cannot prove it by me. I will never use Delta Plumbing again and will never refer them to anybody.
Complaint I am very disappointed with the treatment I received from **** at Delta plumbing. The tone and attitude taken towards me was horrible. I trusted Delta Plumbing to do work in my house after my kitchen pipes busted under the sink, but they created additional problems. Upon the initial visit, the Delta technician did sloppy work that had to be corrected by a third party contractor. My field adjuster, the third party contractor, and **** all agreed that the original work need to be fixed. Evidently, when the Delta technician did the work he cut, capped off, or redirected a pipe that released water into my Sunroom. I have lived in my house for over 18 years and I have never had an issue with that pipe leaking until the Delta technician tried to fix them. After discovering the leak, I asked Delta plumbing to come back out to check the problem, but **** refused. When I hire a professional, I expect quality work and Delta definitely missed the mark on service and professionalism. Im not a plumber, so when I rely on companies like Delta to provide their expertise, I trust them to complete the job with integrity,.
Desired Settlement I would like Delta Plumbing to repair whatever is causing the problem and to repair and replace any damage caused by the water leakage into my Sunroom at their expense. This is to include the mold cleaning and treatment also at their expense.
Business Response We sent a technician back to Ms. *******'s home to verify that her leaks were not due to our work. She understands and agrees that the leaks have nothing to do with the repairs we made. Following this resolution to her complaint, Ms. ******* has assured us that she will remove her review.
Complaint on February 19, 2015, I paid Delta Plumbing to repair the septic problem that was causing water to puddle in the front yard and back-up in the bathtubs and toilets. After technician arrived, dug-up front yard, he advised that the problem would be resolved with $4,000 in parts and labor. I paid them. Within weeks the puddles and run-off in the yard re-appeared. After contacting Delta on April 1, and waiting for 3 days and missed appointments they sent a technician who looked at the yard and reported that I needed to spend another $8,000-$20,000 to replace the field drain lines. And Delta would give a $750 credit to the replacement cost. Product_Or_Service: septic repair Order_Number: ***** Account_Number: *****
Desired Settlement Either refund the $4,000 extorted during initial repair or repair the problem that is the same as it was in February at no additional cost.
Business Response We explained to Mr. Wheeler in the beginning that we would attempt to treat his field lines but there was a possibility they could still fail. We stated on the invoice that if they failed, we would credit 50% of the treatment cost. As indicated on his invoice, the price for the treatment was $1,500.00. The remainder of the invoice was for other maintenance on his septic system. The invoice is itemized for each service we performed.
After speaking to Mr. Wheeler, he told us that he didn't want any more repairs or maintenance to his system. We asked if he was having any back-up in his home or experiencing any other problem with the system. He replied that he was not having any back-up in his house and he was able to use his system. We assured him that if anything happens that keeps him from using water, we will pump his tank out at no charge until he decides what he's going to do about having his system replaced.
At no time did we quote Mr. Wheeler $20,000.00 for service. We offered to give him an estimate for new field lines and he refused. If he decides to move forward, we will still honor the 50% credit of the treatment cost we originally offered. We have signed documentation on file that Mr. Wheeler was aware that his field lines could still fail.
Consumer Response (The consumer indicated he/she DID NOT accept the response from the business.) Delta Plumbing, Inc. continues to use deceptive practices. At no time during the initial service call was I advised that the $4,000.00 quoted was "an attempt to resolve the problem". I was told the $4000 was required to repair the problem. The only treatment performed on the filed lines was the addition of 32 ounces of chemicals for $1,500. What 32 ounce canister of chemicals can be called a treatment and cost One Thousand Five Hundred Dollars? Delta never returned to make any repairs to the damage caused to my property during the first repairs. On the last visit, I was told they would provide an estimate between $8,000 - $20,000 to replace the field lines. Unless I accepted the new cost estimate they refused to pump any water backing up in the yard. It is all part of their continued efforts to defraud the public. They advertise $150.00 to empty the tank. When they arrive, they begin a sales pitch to drive the prices to the maximum limits. Price gauging is fraud. Nothing on the RECEIPT indicates the $4,000.00 was just an attempt to fix the problem. It itemizes what was done after the fact. My signature was to acknowledge a copy was given after the fact. Now they make false representations about the receipt. Nothing in a 32 ounce of chemicals can be priced at $1,500. Delta was onsite less than 6 hours in total for $4,000.00. They charged fuel fees, environmental dumping fees, installed at $20.00 PVC pipe sticking up in the yard and $1500 for chemicals and presented me with a bill for $4,000.00.
Complaint Delta Plumbing charged me for a fictitious estimate quote for a repipe job and has failed to respond to my phone calls and emails. On Wednesday, February 4th 2015 my realtor called Delta Plumbing to arrange an estimate to have a house's polybutylene pipe's replaced. The company agreed to come to the house on Friday February 6th between 1-3 pm for a fee of $119. We explained that we needed the estimate the same day as the estimate because we were in the 10 day due diligence timeframe of a purchase contract for this house. I called twice that day to attempt to obtain a verbal quote. The operator told me that an employee named Josh would call me back. He did not. My realtor spoke with the company that same day and was told that the quote would not be ready until Monday. On Monday, February 9th, my phone calls were again not returned. At 3:30 pm I finally received the written quote in email format, but there were very obvious errors. The quote was supposed to list all water fixtures in the home, but it was missing an entire bathroom, a water heater, a wet bar, a hose bibb, and a water line for a fridge in the basement. I called and replied by email to the service manager that sent me the quote,***** ********. I did not receive a response. I called again the morning of Wednesday, February 10th and still have not received any form of response. I can only surmise that the company did not visit the home as promised. The water heaters are adjacent to each other and would be impossible to not see. The other omitted items at best show a careless effort at obtaining an accurate quote. Unfortunately my realtor was out of town the day of the estimate and could not accompany the employee. I live 3.5 hours away and so could not accompany the employee. I currently have a charge for the estimate of $119 that is pending on my Visa card. I will most certainly dispute this charge.
Desired Settlement I would like the $119 charge for the estimate to be returned.
Business Response On this particular day, our technician looked at two very similar jobs. When he reported back to the manager, he got the information for this property mixed up with the other property which led to the confusion in reporting.
This is not Delta Plumbing's typical method of customer service and we regret the error. We have been in business for 40 years and we always strive to maintain a high degree of customer satisfaction. We truly value our customers and want to forge long-term relationships with them. We are refunding the customer the $119.00 and offer our apologies for the way things were handled.

BBB promotes truth in advertising by contacting advertisers whose claims conflict with the BBB Code of Advertising. These claims come to our attention from our internal review of advertising, consumer complaints and competitor challenges. BBB asks advertisers to prove their claims, change ads to make offers more clear to consumers, and remove misleading or deceptive statements.
Some Better Business Bureaus offer additional content and services in BBB Business Reviews. The additional content and services are typically regional in nature or, in some cases, a new product or service that is being tested prior to a more general release. Not all enhanced content and services are available at all Better Business Bureaus.
