Bad product and services and the company does not stand behind their work
My father in law and I hired esogrepair to fix the existing cracks in the foundation and brick along the left side of the house. The job also included the brick tuck point to blend in the new mortar of the cracked area to match with the old mortar from the rest of the house.
The repair from esog resulted in several additional cracks to the brick at the back wall of the house. Instead of taking any initial responsibility, the company blamed my father in law for the new cracks. After talking with the company's owner *** ********* about our unhappiness with the new cracks and how we were been treated, *** agreed to give us some discounts on the job by not charging for the brick tuck point work. However, the brick tuck point work was so bad that it clearly stood out from the rest of the house. The new mortar that was used to fill in the cracked area was so red compared to the old mortar from the rest of the house. The workers did not attempt to blend in the new mortar color as they had promised. The work looks like it was done by an amateur and not someone with years of experience like the company claims.
We complained to *** and his reply is that since he gave us a discount on the brick tuck point job, that he's not willing stand by his company's work and will not attempt to fix the bad mortar job. It was at this point that I realized the whole company, from top down, does not care about the customer and will not do what's necessary to make things right and stand behind their work like they claim.

Desired Settlement
Just want the company to keep their claim in earning Trust from the customers: Communication, Execution and Workmanship. If your company did the work, whether compensated for it or not, then stand behind the work. Even if the work was free, you did the work so you should stand behind it.

Business Response
This customer refused to honor the terms of the contract concerning additional depth and the possibility of additional cracking. Engineered Solutions agreed to discount the job in an effort to make the customer happy. The customer then refused to pay for tuck pointing of not only the new cracks but the original cracks as well. We chose not to pursue the matter and accepted that we would not be paid for that part of our services.
The customer called back several weeks later to request that we redo the work that they admittedly did not pay for. Engineered Solutions works very hard to insure all customers are satisfied but feel it is unreasonable to expect work that was not payed for to be redone. If the customer would like to pay us for the tuck pointing we would be happy to address any color or texture matching issues.
We have a policy not to extend a satisfaction guarantee to work that is not paid for. We feel that is a reasonable policy but sadly this customer disagrees. Rest assured that we are always tying to be a better company and always willing to come to a compromise that is fair to all parties.
