Ron Berry, Senior Vice President

Ron Berry joined the Better Business Bureau system in 1970 while still in law school and served in a variety of capacities at Bureaus in Austin, Philadelphia and Dallas, including 18 years as President and CEO of BBB/Dallas. In July, 1997, he was appointed Senior Vice President of the Council of Better Business Bureaus, in which capacity he oversees the nation's 115 local BBBs.

During Mr. Berry's tenure as President of the Dallas Bureau, its budget quintupled, while its operational activity increased tenfold. In addition, the Bureau was honored with 12 Outstanding Bureau Awards and two Marshall A. Mott Memorial Awards for Excellence in BBB Communications.

During Mr. Berry's tenure as Senior Vice President for the CBBB's Bureau Network Division, the BBB system has grown at annual rates ranging from 5-10% and its instances of service have increased fivefold to 60,000,000 per year. New BBB development is now extending abroad to Romania and Russia.

Mr. Berry is a licensed attorney, a member of the State Bar of Texas and the Dallas Bar Association, and has served on the Boards of Directors of the Dallas Advertising League, Dispute Mediation Service, Consumer Credit Counseling Service, Rotary Club, and the Council of Better Business Bureaus. Mr. Berry is a native of Dallas and a graduate of Southern Methodist University and the University of Texas School of Law. He and his wife and son reside in Arlington, Virginia.
