After accepting our tax preparation, ************* admitted to shelving and ignoring our taxes for six months. They needed to file an extension as a result, despite having materials since Jan 3. ************* made our partners pay tax on Class-B shares, despite numerous insistence, legal documents, and exposition that this isn't taxable...costing several people tens of thousands of dollars each. As a result, several of our owners were hit with tax bills exceeding their income, which seemed, and was, wrong. In or Out failed to write off numerous deductions and donations, or even the Partnership passthrough deduction In or Out repeatedly insisted that we needed an entire accounting firm to manage our taxes but our preceding and seceding firms were each a single person. The following year, our taxes were finished in two weeks. Because of In or Outs errors, the *** believes that my taxes for the following year were six figures and forced biweekly tax estimate payments. In or Out did not file extensions with all governments or for all partners so owners and the company were hit with numerous late fees and failure to file notices. When we inquired, In or Out claimed that we hadn't requested this. When we showed them correspondence, they made excuses and began ignoring us. We received a bill from ************* for four times as much we had agreed upon. The preparer did not advise that the extension only applied to his time to file, not our time to pay. In addition to difficulty communicating even basic information, we frequently had to consult with other tax preparers to receive the answers to procedural questions. We had to invest an additional 100+ hours of work into our taxes above a typical year. Our taxes were filed 9 months after we submitted them, days before the deadline and filed with us owing the cost of a house in inaccurate taxes.
