Complaint: I bought storage here about a year ago. I made something a $40 or $60 deposit on a very small storage space. When I quit using the space I did not know where I would be moving to and the clerk told me I can rest assured that they will send the deposit to the wrong address a few months after I leave. I got to thinking about this recently because another storage place on the east coast has been sending my $100 deposit on an even smaller storage unit to the wrong address despite giving them the new one and I filed a complaint on them. Product_Or_Service: A very small storage locker.

Desired Settlement: DesiredSettlementID: Refund I would like the $40 or more (they will have a better idea of how much they owe) check sent to my new address. The dates and prices on the next form are approximate. I can't remember very well because it has been about 1 year.

Business Response: Initial Business Response /* (1000, 16, 2014/06/18) */ We appreciate the feedback and would like to remedy this complaint. However our company does not hold deposits on our storage spaces. On 4-16-13 payment for the first 30 days of storage was made in the amount of $51.37. On 5-13-13 *** **** made his second month's rent payment in the amount of $53.75 which paid him through 6-15-13. *** ***** vacated on 5-31-13 using 16 days. In our rental agreement customer signed on 4-16-13 it outlines the customer's right to vacate within the first 10 days in order to prorate the rent. *** ***** would have needed to vacate by 5-26-14 in order to receive a refund. We would be happy to provide customer history to review. We look forward to the resolution of this matter. Pretty sure they charged me a deposit because I remember they just couldn't figure out how to send it back to me or give it to me right then and there. They might have stopped doing this but the did it to me. Oh. They ripped me off for a half months rent and 2 months on the mail box. I forgot about this. Maybe it was the money for the mailbox. Final Business Response /* (1000, 32, 2014/07/18) */ Although we do not hold deposits or prorate beyond the 10th day from your due date, we would like to offer a refund of $25.11 on the storage space. As *** **** did use the space 16 days in May, this amount is based on the remaining 14 days left in the rental period. In further review we were able to pull records for your mailbox rental also. On 5.31.13 you were issued a $22.00 refund check and should have received this check by mail to the address you noted on your account when signing our rental agreement. In addition to the $25.11 prorated rent on the storage space, we would also include $22.00 for the mailbox refund in good faith that this check was never received by *** ****. The proposed check amount would total $47.11. If Mr. **** can provide us with a current address we will get this check written and sent.
