Left 100's of nails showing through my overhangs, especially on my front porch. Looks so unprofessional and tacky. There were other ways to go about this without damaging my overhangs but they didn't want to listen. Would not recommend them to anyone else.

Hi Mrs. ******, Sorry to hear you are unhappy with the nail protrusions. We did hear your complaint and did come out to show you the short nails we use over the eaves, unfortunately that is the shortest nail possible that we can use and they will protrude a little, and by code, they are supposed to come through the plywood. We will always do our best to minimize the nail pops, but there are many variables that effect the overall appearance. Some homes have thinner plywood (3/8"), so even if you could use a shorter nail, it would be like putting thumb tacks to nail the shingle. Some houses are poorly painted under the eaves which makes the plywood dry, which can cause some splintering when the nails come through. We always encourage homeowners to read the literature we provide with our estimates that explain this so they aren't taken by surprise if it does happen. We got 4 quotes for a replacement roof. Rock Roofing was very responsive, and their quote came right in the middle. They had the product we wanted plus we just got the feeling they would do quality work. Turns out we made a good choice. Room done on time, great clean up, and best of all, good communication.
