Complaint: I contracted for repair to stop leaks in my roof. The first issue came when I was presented with the bill. It showed 6 hours of labor for which I was charged $1500. When I indicated I wasn't sure all the items had actually been performed I was given a $50 refund. When I later gave it further thought I realized the worker had only been here 4.5 hours - he left for lunch and was gone for 1.5 hours. Later when we had some rain the roof was still leaking. I called and the owner came and attempted to do some patching. After that the roof continued to leak. I called and indicated I was very unsatisfied with the repair and also brought up the issue of the hours I was charged for. I have never received another contact. No visit to examine the problem or a response to my issue of the work hours. My roof is still leaking !!! I have also found the business website indicates a 5% discount for seniors. I am a 70 year old retired veteran and did not receive any discount other than the $50 they deducted for my complaint upon completion of the original work which I felt had not been done as indicated on the bill.
Desired Settlement: Contact by the business - fix my roof - refund from reduced hours worked - they claimed a one year warranty
We will contact the owner and will take care the leak issue. Over the past hard rain and wind cause the many household with water damage and we are still trying to catch up with
all the work and understaffed at this time of the season. I have not forgotten that he still has issue with the roof and I will make a definite schedule time to get his roof repaired.

Desired Settlement: Replace fascia boards. Did not offer senior discount as advertised in local newspaper
Business Response: Initial Business Response /* (1000, 5, 2014/09/09) */ The agreement was for replace damaged plywood and replace water damaged 2"x 4" and replace problem skylight flashing along with chimney flashing. We also removed two layers of 450 SF of problem area and replaced with matching shingles. The replacement of fascia boards was never mentioned at the time of agreement nor senior discount. However, to be in good faith with customer we are willing to repair his fascia board and give the customer 5% senior discount. We can schedule for the work within next two weeks time. Initial Consumer Rebuttal /* (2000, 8, 2014/09/11) */ (The consumer indicated he/she ACCEPTED the response from the business.) I explained when I made payment the job was not done. Too bad I needed to contact BBB to make it happen. I do have to say Ace Const was very prompt in responding to job and finishing quickly.
