I contacted Chris's Plumbing on an app called Thumbtack. Chris came to our home on Dec 10th to give an estimate for kitchen remodel. We recieved the estimate that day for $7000. We called Chris to go over details, to make sure everything we wanted was covered, We felt at that time, Chris seemed like a good honest person, so we decided to go with him. Work started on Dec 12th, paid $3500 at this time I then asked Chris if he thought my kitchen cabinets could be sanded and stained, instead of purchasing new cabinets, he said yes, would i like a quote? I was given a quote of $1800. I paid the $1800. I had a sample cabinet door of the stain i wanted, I bought 4 different stains from *********** but none matched,. Chris told one of his employees to go to take the cabinet to ******************************* to see if they could make a custom match. ******************************* said they could, so Chris's employeed picked it up and started to stain on Sat Dec 18th.I came home and noticed immediately the color was wrong, and the employee seemed off...I asked him how he didn't notice the color was wrong, employee's eyes were very glassy, he seemed confused, was moving and speaking slow movements, opposite of his manner that I witnessed ealier in the week. The electrican was here as well, and even asked how he did not see how off the color was. I told employee to stop and I contacted Chris, Chris said, think about the color overnight and let me know what you think tomorrow !! On Monday the 20th, Chris came to my home and said, so what do you think of the stain... I told him it was wrong and I wanted it fixed. Chris was angry, called employee to come over and sand the wrong color off, while I went to *******************************. ***************************** admitted the made a mistake, and took a day and a half to match the cabinet color we requested.We never heard from Chris again, I asked for a refund for the staining, I had to pay someone else to do it, because Chris never responded to us.
