Complaint: The one and only both local and authorized Precor dealer in my area wrote in its response to my BBB complaint that it is "obligated to do nothing" for me concerning the broken treadmill which is still under warranty. ************* writes: "I have a number of things to say. First this treadmill was purchased from *************, ***. in Holyoke, MA almost 10 years ago. This company is no longer in business. Our company ************* *********, *** is located in West Springfield, MA and has different owners than *************, ***. even though we do have the same web address. We are obligated to do nothing for this person. Second this person filed a complaint with the BBB on the same day he put a service request in on our website. We never heard from him before this date which is baloney. Third the treadmill has a one year labor warranty which expired long ago. The amount of use has nothing to do with the warranty period. He should contact the manufacturer, Precor, directly." They're the same business. Same name. Same logo. Same website address. They're just doing some legal acrobatics to try to evade responsibility. The 21 minute phone call with "****" was very irritating. Salespersons I spoke with claimed I was supposed to get tens of thousands of miles out of this unit. After allegedly just 200 miles of usage, there is supposedly something wrong with the belt, rollers, motor, and electronics. It was stored and maintained properly, never abused. It was maintained according to the requirements as explained in the manual.

Desired Settlement: Fix the treadmill or replace it with a new one, 9.31.

We have been in contact with ****** ******* and he has informed us that a Servicer has repaired his unit and it is working properly at this time.
