Read Complaint Details
Complaint: There have been a number of faulty areas with the remodel of our project within a 2year period. The first issue (Main Shower Head Leaks, but seems it needs to have a Cartridge replaced which had to be sent out by ***** which I had to telephone & attempt to have ***** (manufacture co)complete said task., was within a 8month timeframe, and the company (Chermak) sent out their subcontractor (Plumber) to verify the issue. This Plumber does NOT care to work (has stated so a number of times) on our project). The Plumber stated it was NOT 'leak' but would NOT attempt to determine nor state what was the fault. Then proceeded to submit a BILL/INVOICE to us directly. Attempted to correct this issue w/Chermak (and it seems this has yet to be corrected 10.Jan.2014). The Plumber refused to come out to repair the Shower Head issue from this point NOW (10.Jan.2014) unless he receives $309.50 from US for the previous BILL & a service call charge to Repair the Faulty Issue. Now there is another issue (discovered late Summer/early Fall 2013) of Mold growing under Glue on the Shower Basin by the installation of the Shower Panel/Door which was brought to the attention of Chermak immediately upon the occurrence, but according to Chermak, we (Clients) are expected to pay for the subcontracting company Shower Door Installation to come out ($175.00) & inspect the issue ($55 per 30mins) & thus repair issue. I have spoken with (both in person & via telephone) & written email messages with the daughter of the owner of the company ***** *******) on numerous occasions. In person statements (yes I realise tis heresay), are spoken, thus the story is altered once she leaves. The company from the beginning was extremely difficult to work with, a number of their contractors/subcontractors committed a number of incorrect work which had to be repaired delaying the work progress, a number of double billing issues, thus when we requested to see the complete Financials we were denied this access.
Desired Settlement: We are seeking completing the repairs that are required for the Shower Head (replacing the Cartriges provided by Delta), but if this does NOT correct the issue, please provide the SUPPORT and repairs that will correct the issue. And the repairs to correct the issue of the MOLD and/or MILDEW (or whatever it is) that is growing by the Shower Door/Panel (the information (photos were taken by *** *******)) provided the Original Shower installation company and/or a Significantly Better company. And these issues/repairs/etc, but NOT limited to; to be covered/paid for under the WARRANTY stated by Chermak (thus all repairs/service calls/etc, but NOT limited to). NO bills/invoices should be submitted to us. Also, Chermak needs to HONOUR their Warranty for OUR project (Master Suite Bathroom in it's ENTIRETY) for at least 5 years from the year 2013.
Business Response: Initial Business Response /* (1000, 6, 2014/01/22) */ We have reached an agreement to complete the requested repairs free of charge to the customer. The customer surprised us with a demand that we replace a faulty valve in a faucet that she personally purchased. We felt it was her responsibility. It has been in place for 3 years. Also she demanded that we remove mold from the caulking in her shower after 3 years of heavy use. To bring closure, we will do both at no charge on Jan. 28 and 29th.
