Complaint: Green Oval LLC did not perform some of the services that I was charged for. The services include an oil change, differential oil change, and transmission service. I know this because about 2 months after paying them for these services, I decided to perform these services to the vehicle myself. The engine oil that was emptied from the engine was JET BLACK, indicating it is very old, burnt up oil--not engine oil 2 months old or so. The oil emptied from the front and rear differentials was also very black and had metal flakes in it, indicating the fluid was extremely old and burnt up. The same is true of the transmission fluid. Car fluids like these will not degrade that quickly, therefore it is clear that Green Oval did not perform any of these services, but charged me for them. Green Oval can refer to their Invoice #****.

Desired Settlement: I want $300.00 paid to me by Green Oval for the following reasons: 1. The total for parts and labor charged to me for these services was $256.75. 2. Potential internal damage of the vehicle caused by being misled into thinking the vehicle was serviced. 3. Refer to Green Oval invoice # ****.

Business Response: Green oval motors replaced the oil pan at the same time the service work was perform, which means the motor oil has to be drained completely to perform the pan replacement. Mr ******* vehicle is over 20 years old, and all Land Rover vehicles with the engine that is in his vehicle will make the engine oil turn jet black within a few hundred miles, this is normal for this particular vehicle. It is also impossible to tell how old any fluid is based on it's color, transmission fluid, motor oil, and differential fluid is supposed to lubricate, cool, and clean when put in use. Therefore saying we did not flush the fluid simply because the fluid is dark, is a false, the fluid is doing what it is designed to do, and a vehicle of this vintage will darken the fluid even quicker!  I assure Mr ***** that we did the proper maintenance on his vehicle, I did it myself personally as a matter of fact, because we knew the customer was very particular about his vehicle and the work performed on it. We have stood behind our work with him with other issues on a distributor rotor that failed after we recently replaced it, and given him personalized service by providing him with do it yourself tips, and free parts. 

Green oval motors absolutely flushed the motor oil, transmission, and differentials in this vehicle as described on invoice #1662. It is absolutely normal for these fluids to darken in a short amount of time, it means the fluid is doing what it was designed to do, and is impossible to tell when a fluid was flushed simply by the color of that fluid. Green oval will not issue a refund, because the work was performed.
