Complaint: Taken advantage of through unnecessary "vehicle inspection" when brought car in to find out why it was running worse than before a valve cover gasket replacement. Charged $75 and told engine needed to be pressure washed in order to find leak. Brought it in the next day, kept all day, was never pressure washed but was charged an additional $85 to be told the leak was coming from the timing belt cover and why it made a noise going over bumps that I asked about the second day which tells me the car was never even driven during the vehicle inspection. Was sent email asking for feed back which posted to their website. Was contacted after writing it and they asked what could be done to resolve the issue. I told them I would be happy if they fixed the issue I came in with and agreed to remove my review on their request. I couldn't get a straight answer as to how to remove it but it is no longer on their website and I wasn't the one to remover it. I had paid them $160 for nothing. I told them I didn't care about the bushing/links problem; that I had already bought the bushings. They replaced the bushings that I told them didn't concern me but didn't resolve the engine issue.I was not willing to drag this out any further. They wasted my time and caused me a lot of stress, keeping my car overnight and resolving nothing. They had already had it for two days prior and nothing was done. I have no energy left to work with them and was more than fair in trying to work with them to resolve things.

Business Response: Initial Business Response /* (1000, 13, 2014/06/10) */ Ms. ******* brought her vehicle into affordable car care and asked for a complete vehicle inspection, she agreed to have a complete vehicle inspection done, after complete vehicle inspection was done, she complained that we told her what she already knew about her vehicle, she also said she had another shop do a tune up on her engine and that the engine ran worse than before the tune up, we told her that for the year and mileage of her Toyota it appeared to run normal, she was also told that we did not see how the engine ran before the tune up, technician went on a test drive with her and did not see any drive ability issues,we told ms. ******* that in order to find the oil leak we would have to pressure wash the oil off the motor, when investigating the oil leak it was determined that due to the the angle of the engine and the location of where we thought the oil was leaking from, it would be better to clean the engine with brake clean aid air pressure and clean the engine from underneath, which is what we told her, what we did, we also told her that the oil is leaking from inside the timing cover which is a crankshaft or camshaft seal, ms. ******* took her vehicle, then she wrote a bad review on us on sure critic, we called ms. ******* and asked her what we could do to rectify the problem, she said if we replaced the engine valve cover gasket and and adjust the valves, and replace the sway bar bushings, we at affordable car care agreed to ms. *******'s terms, she brought the vehicle in and we replaced the engine valve cover gasket and adjusted the engine valves while the engine valve cover was off, we also replaced the rear sway bar bushings, upon replacing the rear sway bar bushings, we found that ms. ******* purchased the wrong sway bar bushings, we purchased the correct rear sway bar bushings and installed the correct sway bar bushings, we did this at no cost to ms. *******, when ms. ******* came to pick up her vehicle she said that we told her that the A/C system operated and she said it didn't, we took her out and started engine and turned the A/C system was on and personally showed her that the A/C compressor clutch was engaged and turning, she said that it did not blow cold though, she was told that the system is more than likely low on freon, unfortunately her vehicle being pre 1995 that it is a R12 freon system, due to government regulations R12 freon is no longer available, the system will have to retrofitted to the new R134A environmentally freon, the system operates it just doesn't blow cold, after repairing her vehicle at no cost to her, and spending one hour going through things on her vehicle with her she had questions about, said she was satisfied, and she would remove her bad review, she asked how she could do that and we told her we didn't know how to remove it, ms. ******* took her vehicle and left, we never heard anything more from her until we were notified by the bbb, we are not sure what she is looking for, we told her that for a vehicle that is fifteen plus years old with well over 100K miles on it that her vehicle actually runs and drives pretty good at this time, we at affordable car care strive very hard to please our customers, and our record shows that, we are sorry that we could not seem to please ms. ******* and we wish her all the best, Sincerely, Affordable Car Care
