Programs

Since 1979, Bean's Cafe has maintained a center where the hungry and homeless are provided with hot nutritious meals, a warm and safe day shelter, information and referral assistance to health and human service programs.

Services available:
The meal and day shelter program is provided every day of the year. Bean's Cafe provides hot breakfast, hot lunch and hot or cold beverages throughout the day to all who come to the cafe. In addition, The Children's Lunch Box provides meals to low income children in the Anchorage area.

Social Services Referral, provides direct assistance and referral for clients seeking employment, transportation, housing, medical, legal, alcohol or drug rehabilitation and educational opportunities. In collaboration with a variety of community agencies, additional emergency and long term assistance are provide for those requiring mental health, veteran's assistance, disability, financial and case management services.

All people are welcome - men, women and children. These services will be provided to the public at no monetary cost to the recipient; the only requirement for service is adherence to the house rules.
