Transactions: $59.85 monthly even after cancelling membership.. I want to share my experience with Alaska Fitness in *********, Alaska Fitness the owner is named ***. As you know I had spinal surgery back in October- and I cancelled the gym membership way before then. At least, thats what I thought. My six month membership when ended was supposedly rolled over to month to month despite me canceling due to my inability to use the gym. I have been charged several hundred dollars from Alaska Fitness and my bank has gotten involved to cancel any additional attempts for them to withdraw the money. At first, *** apologized and stated it was a problem with their new system and that it would be resolved. She then emailed me and told me I was there last month. I havent gone to the gym since February of last year before my spine surgery- due to the significant amount of pain I was in anytime I moved. I have requested once again, for her to cancel the membership- and that she needed to refund the money she had charged me. There are many reviews on Yelp reporting this exact thing occurring to other individuals... if youre looking for a gym, do not use Alaska fitness. I have requested a copy of my signed contract- but the contract that I signed stated nothing about these additional charges/ rolling month to month. *** is a scammer and will steal from you.Continued charging my credit card on file for several months after cancelling the membership. Refused to send over my signed contract regarding their business practices.
