Date of transaction: June 7, 2023 My family of 4 paid for a 6 hr fishing excursion with this company. We paid $285.82 per person and a total of $1288.60. The boat went two hours out into the ocean which was pretty bumpy but not too bad. When we reached our fishing location, the captain tried to stay in one place so we could fish, but the waves were so big the boat kept tipping and rocking. So, we would let down our lines for a minute or two then have to reel them back in and move again. We fished maybe a total of 20 min out of the 2 hrs we were supposed to fish. While we were trying to hold our poles, the waves were so bad from a storm further out, we kept falling over. You could hardly stand up to reel them in. One of the crew members said we had 12 foot waves. My husband and youngest daughter ended up sick and throwing up almost the whole trip. My husband was so sick he couldn't even fish. My youngest daughter fished for a bit then quit because she was so sick. We didn't know that the captain was supposed to cancel the trip if the water was too rough until we started talking to others around Seward. They said that waves that are that high are dangerous when trying to fish because you can easily fall over. They are completely correct. The waves were so bad we couldn't sit still long enough to fish and when we did try it was all you could do just to stand up. The trip should have been cancelled. I have reached out to Seward Fishing Club and they claim that nobody else on the trip had an issue. That is not possible. There were several people who refused to even leave the cabin due to the waves. Others were sick as well. Nobody got hardly any time fishing. I have no issues with the crew - they were very kind and accommodating. My issue is allowing the trip in that bad of weather which eliminated fishing from the trip except for 20 minutes. I want a refund for the two family members that really didn't get to fish and were just sick the whole time.
