Programs

Info Line, Inc., is Summit County's comprehensive, 24-hour Information and Referral service answering 79,000 incoming calls annually. In 2001, it purchased and implemented a state-of-the-art call center technology to improve call handling processes and increase efficiency in anticipation of providing 211 service to our community.

Senior Info Line - is a specialized information and referral service for older adults, their relatives, or caregivers. Staff members hold either master's degrees or have additional education in gerontology so that they can meet the needs of growing population of seniors in Summit County.

Lifeline - This program provides emergency alarm monitoring for 1,200 frail elderly persons and those with a disabling condition. This is a 24-hour service serving 11 counties. A monitoring device is installed in each client's home. If a client is ill or experiencing difficulties, they press a button worn around their neck. This sends a message to Info Line's response center, and a trained specialist dispatches appropriate assistance, whether it's a neighbor or family member, police, or paramedics.

MedAssist - This program provides financial assistance to individuals who are without health insurance coverage, but do not qualify for public assistance or other healthcare programs. Clients receive a no-interest loan to pay for outpatient clinic visits and for on-going prescriptions for chronic illnesses. Clients make monthly payments on their loans based on a sliding fee scale. MedAssist also provides once-per-year assistance with emergency prescriptions. Eligible clients for this program receive their medications with "no pay back" requirement.

Child Care Connection - This program maintains a database of area child care programs, including licensed child care centers, family child care homes, nursery schools, school age programs, play groups, summer camps and care in the home. The program provides parents with child care referrals, consultation, and consumer education on choosing child care. The program is also a Child and Adult Care Food Sponsor; maintains and distributes a calendar of training opportunities for child care providers; offers Family Child Care Home and Center technical start-up support; and assists child care professionals to obtain the Child Development Associate Credential.

Project Connect - Project Connect is a technology and connectivity initiative for non-profit organizations. This initiative assists area non-profit organizations in upgrading their technology capabilities and utilizing their resources more effectively.
