            My 2016 Ford Edge started having issues the beginning of August 2021 with the check engine light randomly coming on and then going off the next time I shut the vehicle off. In September 2021 the check engine light came on and stayed on. We took our 2016 Ford Edge which we purchased from Pallota Ford to the dealership repair shop on 09/27/21. At this time the vehicle had 58,000 miles on it. Pallota Ford told me that I needed a new engine ( I purchased the vehicle 2 years prior). They also told me that my 5 year or 60,000 mile warranty expired 8/20/21. Shocked and disheartened, I took the vehicle to a different repair shop to get a second opinion, where they also told me the engine needed replaced and I proceeded to have the repairs done. The new repair shop provided me an estimate of $6,400. After much thought, I feel like the dealership and Ford should honor my warranty and regardless the vehicle is only a 2016 with 57,000 miles. I contacted Ford (case#********) and they told me that since I ultimately decided to take the vehicle to a different shop that they could not reimburse for repairs, even though they told me it was not covered under warranty originally. I definitely feel like I was cheated and taken advantage of by both Ford and the Pallota Ford Dealership and would like contribution of $5,700 (which was my estimate from Pallota Ford originally) toward the cost of my repairs at the new shop.

            I lost a lot of trust in this dealership. My experience has been nothing but a headache with more questions left unanswered. ****** (who recently quit) told me that replacing the turbo in my 2013 Escape would 100% fix the smoke from my exhaust. After arguing that I already replaced the turbo, she insisted. She said the turbo would 100% fix the issue. Luckily I recorded the phone call because the new turbo did not fix the issue. So they ended up replacing the head too, free of charge. He head haf three cracks in it.. Wouldn't you know it, that still didn't fix the issue. It definitely helped, but my vehicle still burns oil, and smokes like a chimney on start up. We even put premium 5w30 in it, but I'm still having the same issue. I called the owner **** ********, and never heard back. They were not able to replicate the issue, and said unless I return everything to stock, they can't work on my vehicle. I cut the muffler off and have a blow off valve on my turbo. They said to remove the "tune" which just makes me question their knowledge of the cars they work on. I would not recommend taking your vehicle here for engine repair. This Ford dealership doesn't know what they are talking about, and they are pinching pennies to save on labor and parts.

            The customer paid $1735 in April for a repair that did not remedy his situation. We then invested $3100 into his vehicle to fix the issue. In July it was brought back to us stating that the original complaint still existed. We provided him with a loaner vehicle while we tried to duplicate the concern. We were in contact with **** Technical Assistance and invested another $700 of time and rental costs. Unfortunately we were never able to duplicate the smoking upon start-up concern. **** stated that smoking at start-up is a characteristic of the DI engine and unless we could verify the customers concern there was nothing else to be done at this time. We are sorry that the customer has been unhappy with the service that he has received but we disagree with his statement that we are pinching pennies to save on labor and parts.
